We are already at war with radical Islams, and have been for quite some time now.

Radical Islam is tiny percentage of a percentage of Islam. And we`re not going after those criminals b/c of their faith.

We have about the same percentage of radicals here, mostly on the right.

Mcvey,Rudolph,Koresh,clinic bombers/domestic terrorists,etc. and those who give those radicals aid and comfort,the Christian right.

The radicals, shouldn`t be how we view a whole religion.Not matter who`s religion one is talking about.

I`m asking,do our own radicals and their fundie/neo-con leaders, want a war with all of Islam,not just Islam`s radicals?

I say it`s arguable that they want a clash of religions,a war of cultures with Muslims.

Palin IMO does not wish to hold office.  Nor do Rush or Beck. They want to say what will give them the most PR and sate their followers.

They do not advocate policies as much as talking points.

Andrew Sullivan had some interesting observations  on the difference he perceives between Rove/Bush and The Tea Party
in "The Daily Dish" in The Atlantic, 16th Sept 2010.  He seems to think the Bush/Rove crowd  just "used"(exploited) this  (anti Islam) and other rallying cry issues like cutting govt spending, anti immigration,  but actually delivered contrarily.  He posits that Tea Party people, in contrast,  actually " believe" these ideas.  Interesting thesis.

Gingrich, the" pro colonialist",  self-appointed  Republican's leading intellectual, deadbeat serial adulterer, and all around slimeball gas bag, is trying to make a new career splash with preaching hate/paranoia for Islam, Muslims, etc.  He appears determined to get into the Tea Party by mining the hate/fear side of their  zealot  Fundy core. I think  he would push invading  Iran  or anywhere else if it gave him political power again.  He's  more representative of that Bush/Rove Old School
that Sullivan describes.

Your right about that one.  None of that group wants to hold office.  They would be forced to actually have to try and produce something. 

They say what they think the audience wants to hear in order to keep the cash flowing.

Newt's plan seems to be an attempt to catch whatever wave he thinks can get him to the White House should he run.

I don't believe they want war...but they do want you to believe that only they can protect you from war...if you vote for them. Then there are the earnest politicians that believe a hard stance toward Islam is the only way to deal with extremism.

The fact is that Islam has been at war with us since long before we were US. It was Jefferson who, arguably, came closest to a war with Islam itself

They don't really want a war, no. They like being able to use the dreadful threat posed by a small minority of shi'ites as an excuse for military dig wagging, but these are (by and large) people who didn't join up or managed to dodge the draft. (I think "chicken hawk" is the Americanism, unless that's pedophiles.)
Given that these people have based lengthy careers on saying something, and then doing nothing about it, a war is the last thing they want. Apart from anything else, they can all see how badly the US armed forces are doing against small cells of insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. I doubt they'd fancy to trying to invade a country like Saudi Arabia or Syria where a large chunk of the population is nuts like that...

I think it is probably best to separate out Arab Islam from Islam since I don't think we are talking about all of the Islamic world. If that is the qualifier then, yes, they want a war with Islamic Arabs. The meme must be kept in place that they are a grave threat to us when the truth is is that they are a very small threat.

So, we should stop buying oil from Muslim countries?

Or maybe you would rather the US invade the Muslim oil producing countries and take over the oil fields. Of course the native population might be a bit upset about that kind of move, so we may want to revive the way the US took what it wanted in the 1700 and 1800's, I will let you do some research to find out how that was accomplished.
