Nother question. Cos i'm full of em!

So I sleep terribly. One night I woke up, middle of the night and thought hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe I'll play on the net. Dumb idea, right? So I ended up spending like 800 some odd dollars. Why? I guess cos I could. We neednt discuss the retardness of what I did, I'm already in trouble for it.

But what I would like to discuss is what I bought. I like whips. Not specifically to be used ON me, but just cos I like em. They're pretty. So are floggers. I got a flicker whip, an intense impact cane, a rug beater, a braided leather cane, a whip called the knotty cat, a thong whip, a twin lash whip, a scottish tawse, a strap and a mini slapper. (which is a lot more than a whip or flogger.. but curiousity of these items is def gonna kill this cat)

So while I like idea of ME getting to try out these things on other, I have this distinct impression of them being used on me. So I'm wondering what I've gotten myself into here. lol I really like the thudding sensation of floggers. Never been one for the stinging sensation. If anyone has used these or had them used on them could you please educate me on what to expect with each one of them? I got them on CM's gear site and Stockroom for reference.

Thx

The flicker whip stings like a mother!!!!!
The rug beater feels like a thin cane but over more of an area.
The rest - not sure about.

oh boy. lots of sting there, not as much thud.  well....if you like thudding, you might enjoy the mini-slapper and the strap, depending on how it is applied to you.
The tawse have a "bite" to them--it's very specific and focused, same with your knotty cat.  I found that the pain was very focused on a small area--didn't make it hurt any less or any less intense, but as I processed the pain, I only had to concentrate on one spot at a time, as opposed to my whole bum being on fire.

The canes--esp. that dreaded rug beater--are a solid sting and burn, with the beater, as just said by kiwisub12, over a broader area.
And yep, flicker whip and any of the smaller single tails and thin canes will sting--harder blows will sting followed by the burn.

From what it sounds like you've purchased, most of those items are not going to give you the "massaging" thud of a flogger, but then again, very else will.  It's why floggers are so nice.

If you like thudding, you might want to consider (not that I'm suggesting more shopping....) thicker canes and my personal favorite, wooden paddles.  Nothing compares to the thud of solid wood. (If you want a vendor, see my suggestion in marketplace.  Walt is now the only paddle maker I trust!)

Enjoy your purchases--if you don't like the sensation of them, don't panic.  You might enjoy using them on someone else, or you might find that you grow to enjoy them over time and training.  Just practice on a pillow before a human target  (I used to chalk out a target area on a black pillow) and for long implements, I used to suspend a tennis ball on a chain to practice hitting a very small target in front of me.

A lot of the time, it's the 'how' it's used rather than the 'what'.

When I was toy collecting very early on, I bought a lot of things from (what is now) aswgt.com (Adam's Sensual Whips and Gillian's Toys).  I was new, but what I liked about their paper catalogue at the time was that it gave ratings for the various implements.  'Gentle' 'Moderate' 'Severe', etc.

Now, this doesn't address the 'thump' relative to the 'sting'.  (And it's generally easy to denote the two - stingy is something that doesn't land on a large surface area relative to a 'thump' which does (also depends on the weight).)  But even so, if during your time of play you become worked up enough such that you're being turned on by the proceedings, you might find that you can take or endure a sensation that would generally be thought of as unpleasant, and eroticize it.

It all depends on how things are used (and when) on you.

See, I skipped all the paddles cos i thought it was just a larger area to sting. We've got one that has something like sand paper on one side and just smooth on the other. Its kind of long and boardish shaped. Gets both cheeks pretty good. Stings like a brat. Perhaps with some of the things I got.. maybe less of a stinging area? So canes huh? I always remembered them being awful. I di want a flogger or at least find a way to reproduce some of that feeling. Like, I've had retards over the years punch me. I've never said "ow" from being punched. I got punched in the head once, laughed and notified the puncher that kids can hit harder. Point is, for me the thudding is less painful and leads more towards pleasure. Stinging...... its just hard to stay still. lol

I guess I'll know soon enough. Paddles eh? Really? They did have several. Wood ones, ones with holes... etc

Paddles.  Ones with holes.

These are often quite devilish.  I have (had, not sure which right now - a lot of my toys were given away recently) a plexiglass paddle with holes.

When struck (correctly), your body can sense that portions of the striking surface are 'missing' and really mess with your head, as well as whatever pain your body is enduring.

Oh, boy. You have gotten yourself into some future "interesting" times, especially if he's annoyed at you for spending all that money. I don't know, though. You may find you really relish (I wouldn't say enjoy) some of these items.

With all of them, the pain level depends a lot on how your partner uses them on you, your own pain tolerance, and how each implement is made (dimmension, materials, etc.) although very generally speaking there are a couple here that probably won't be seriously painful even if used hard. These are the tawse and the slapper. If you like floggers, you might also like a broad-tipped riding crop.

The canes are possibly the harshest of the items you bought. When used with the same level of force one might use with a flogger, they are, for most people, of the "I can't believe anything could possibly hurt this bad" class, although there are actually many harsher things. The intense impact cane will hurt a lot. I love their description: "Imagine their surprise and delight when when you emerge with the Intense Impact cane." Delight? Interesting choice of words, there. With a classic (bamboo or rattan) cane, you get about a second of numbness after impact before the pain starts burning in. Maybe it takes that long for the shock to reach your brain? If you are a flogger person, then canes are very, very bad news. One or two strokes are shocking but not that hard to get through. It's the very long sessions that break you down. With the intense impact cane, all bets are off. :/

With whips, it depends on a number of factors, like how long they are, their flexibility, the tip, etc., but many of them are right up there with canes. Whips sometimes exceed the pain of canes because they break open the skin far more easily and being hit on an already open oozing wounds is pretty harsh to bear. With canes, you're more likely to get welts, although seepage and breaking will appear if it's a long session and the strokes are repeated in the same spot. Whips, if they are the wiggly type, require some skill to learn how to use properly. They are harder to aim than most implements, so it's easy to damage someone with them. The flicker whip is more like a mean crop than a whip, which is good. Someone used to get enjoyment from hitting me with a carriage whip: it looks like a flicker whip but is twice as long. The length adds quite a bit of pain, so I would say that compared to a carriage whip, a flicker whip is nice. But that is only comparatively speaking.

I used to really like being hit with multi-tail whips and the ones with the knots in the tails. They are like floggers on speed. Many people hate them, however, as they do have considerable sting. But there's a little thud with the sting, too, so it's not all bad. :) You might develop a taste for them.

Rug beaters--depends a lot on the material and they have a wide variety of appearances. They are broad, however, and that spreads the impact around to a broader area of skin, which means less pain in any one spot. If you got the one from the stockroom, though, well, that looks like pretty bad news. :/

DisenchantedLife -> RE: Toys (9/22/2010 5:20:04 PM)

Thanks! I appreciate your experience and willingness to share.

Unfortunetly, with 3 years of "space" my pain tolerance is pretty low. He's only ever once broken skin in the years I've known him and it wasnt from a single impact. It was using this paddle he has now, repeatedly until the skin bubbled and sort of exploded.

So, some of them came into day. IMO the canes are probably the evilest. A quick test drive, lol, and none seemed that bad. Most likely cos it was the test drive. The flicker whip didnt seem painful at all. Perhaps again cos it was just a "hi". I'm sure I'll know more tonight. Yeah... I guess I'll see.

Yeah and I got most of them either from Stockroom or the site you get when you go from here CM.

KevinSWM -> RE: Toys (9/23/2010 2:09:53 AM)

I have a rule that I'm not allowed to buy things on the internet within a few hours of bed time. I make dumb decisions when I'm tired.
Not to put sand in your wound but $800 seems like a lot for what you got. Although quality varies greatly with these kinds of toys so perhaps you've got some top quality stuff.

I'm very interested in how you like/dislike these. Everyone I've known has either never been whipped/flogged/caned, or has been doing it for years. And here you are suddenly in the possession of a variety of such devices. I would love to hear your take on each toy. Hell I like stories in general but this is particularly interesting.

hausboy -> RE: Toys (9/23/2010 6:11:25 PM)

Well, just remember it's not a contest of who or what can cause the most pain. Oh, I'm sure for MANY of you that statement will ring completely false, so I'll speak for myself here.  How pain gets inflicted is far less important than the response--are you enjoying yourself? is your master/mistress?  (or better....are you squirming in agony and your Master/Mistress is absolutely delighted?)

The two of you together will find some balance, that lies somewhere in between "hhhmmph. that's not so bad..." and "holy shit don't ever do that again. for real."

Canes are an exquisite pain.  The exact flavor depends upon the type of cane, the manner in which it is applied, and of course, the person wielding it.  I have a love/hate relationship with them.  I love the first set of 6.....hate them by the second set......and love them again by the third, mostly because I'm so full of endorphins I can't count 'em anyway.

Paddles:  I'm biased--I love wooden paddles--really well-made paddles can give you a pleasurable thud--or a hard burn/sting.  If you don't like sting, stay away from paddles with holes--they sting in the worst way.  Too much even for my masochistic tastes.  I'm not one for fancy frills like "sandpaper" on my paddles--guess I'm too conservative.  I have just three in my collection (one oak, one pine and one mahogany--it's plenty--plus the Padauk I purchased as a gift for my Head of Household.  Walt's paddles are made from exotic and hard woods, plus he lacquers them with 6 coats--they feel amazing but holy crap do they hurt.  Check out Walt's handiwork at: www.spanking-paddles.com

kiwisub12 -> RE: Toys (9/23/2010 6:51:46 PM)

mmmm   .......   canes! The one toy i would take with me to a desert island - in two or three different thicknesses. Plus a dominant who loves canes.  I love the thud, and am co[:D]ming to appreciate the sting - and the tip bruises left after. I just luvs me some canes!!!

MsMillgrove -> RE: Toys (9/23/2010 6:59:03 PM)

well considering all you got.. and that you bought much of it from Stockroom (where things are a bit pricey).. I don't think you did too bad pricewise.
The value of getting an item from the Stockroom is that it's been tested, it is as described, the workmanship is good and they stand behind their products.

Living here in L.A., I had the treat a couple years ago of taking a tour of the Stockroom's retail store led by the founder and president of the company.. AND every bit of the facility--the workrooms where they cut and fashion leather, the storage areas, the workspaces for the customer service and vendor reps.. and an incredible kitchen. Complete renovation of a big, old building. These are great people and great toys.

Wishing you lots of fun in playing with your new treasures.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Toys (9/23/2010 6:59:10 PM)

My favorite cane is the end of an old bamboo flyrod (guides removed of course)
