You know, i have seen the title "slave" thrown around this site like crazy, everybody has a slave name. i am wondering if each and every female/male "slave" is really just that, the way they claim. i see alot of young girls call themselves slave. well correct me if i am wrong but does it not take alot of work, time and strength to reach slave level. i wonder when did they start. 10 yrs? 5 yrs? Gee i hope not. i think the title of slave must be taken more serious by many. my belief is that many think the title slave is this romantic erotic label that they label themselves with because they think its sexy and really have no idea what they are claiming themselves to be or what it entails. i am a slave and it takes alot of work and sometimes it is NOT easy and romantic. So many make this claim and end up hurt and abused. Just for that reason i wish i could start a school....slaves 101 @}slave}viktorya}-- Every Rose has her Thorns...

There are a lot of posts here on the difference between a sub and a slave and everyone seems to have different definitions. What really matters is what you have worked out with your Dom/Domme, not what you call yorself, IMHO.

well, Now who gets to decide exactly how long one has to serve before they are called slave, is it you? winks lol! This girl has been in service to this house 9 years, and in "slave" service implying a 24/7 stay at home, always "on" service for the past 5 and half years. she doesn't personally care for the term slave in and of itself it has a bizarre historical connotation and doesn't adequately describe who she is or what she does, in this house the word servant is used. she thinks also that indeed a training school would be very useful in certain circles where standardization are required especially Gorean or Old Guard circles in particular, and she knows of a number of such "schools" in both circles held adhoc. As she has said on this board numerous times, slavery, servitude..whichever word one chooses is not at all easy and is not at all romantic, 99.9 percent of the time in her life. It requires a multitude of menial tasks and labor intensive tasks that have nothing to do with sexuality at all, which most in these forums seem to tend to base their ideals of slavery upon. she actually thinks the best way to describe what she does is if one could morph the atypical June Cleaver 50's wife with Tabitha Stevens or some other porn slut...lmao! For instance as Master's slave she single handedly painted a hundred year old two story house over the summer...with a brush, because it is tongue and groove, even though she is terrified of heights. But Master had power washed it then been called to deploy unexpectedly so it had to be done and the house had no budget for hiring it out. So what's a girl to do? This is selfless service...high a top a ladder about 30 feet off the ground, terrified of heights, pretty much everyday for weeks. This gave her no sexual pleasure at all, she didn't even get sex at night as reward since He is thousands of miles away...so why? Because she serves the house, not her OWN sexual needs, or her OWN psychological needs. Add to this the fact that Master is active duty Army and she spends a great deal of time doing everything from finances to rearing children alone, with truly no needs met, and she thinks she has a particularly good idea of what enslavement or servitude is. It is about sacrifice, and becoming part of something bigger than one's self, the Owner's household. she has not ceased being human, but she now acts as an extension of His will..if she must be told to do anything, then she obviously isn't paying attention to what is needed...such is the way we live here. she has seen many in the scene with house work as a hard limit, she finds this hysterical....where do these girls live? But poster of original question, she has learned over the years to not judge everyone by her own house's exacting standards. Be proud of your HOUSE, as a slave, not of YOURSELF. Selfless service is the slaves path....so don't cling to the title of slave as some fantabulous thing that you alone possess, its just a word. Be proud of your HOUSE, as a slave, not of YOURSELF. Selfless service is the slaves path....so don't cling to the title of slave as some fantabulous thing that you alone possess, its just a word. Actions are our judgements, not the words we call ourselves Has nothing to do with boasting and being puffed with pride. Has NOTHING to do with judging anybody, but for something that is supposed to take such strength and dedication, hell anybody can be one! i do feel one should respect the power of fire or they may get burned. Unfortunately this selfless explaination of the meaning of the word slave is not how potential abusers may look at the title, and because of inexperience, too many of these inexperienced females may get hurt. i think more of them need to understand better what they are claiming to be. that is the REALITY of it.

What i think was the point is that how could some of the 18 yrs olds know what it means to be a slave? I know i cannot be one, i tried. For me with that dom at the time, he wanted chattel, a mindless drone to do his bidding. To him thats what a slave is. To others it means something else. so when 2 people come to the table if they are honorable people they will trade understanding of what it means to them. For all the newbies out there who dont realize what it can mean to some people, well they are going to get a rude awakening one day. And V, i do not think that even speaking to every single one of them will do much good unless they want to learn. If they read the boards then yes maybe they will. But if they think real life is like the fantasy, well all i can say is i want to be there when they get the first order of the day that has nothing to do with sex!

Semantics... labels..... Quite honestly i throw around the words sub, slave or bottom interchangebly. We all come with different kinks to eventually meet up here so it's inevitable that some things get lost in translation. I try to keep that in mind and not take things too literally here because our definitions can be different. The fabric of my sexuality dictates my likes when it comes to this lifestyle, and my likes are to be of good service to a compatible dominant woman. She can pretty much call me whatever she wants really. For myself though, semantics don't play much of a game. I'm a sub, slave, bottom.. it's all the same to me. If certain characteristics are required to fit me into a specific slot, then i have no idea what the prerequisites are for each, and i suspect will change depending on who's defining them. sns

Smiles, each has their own definition of what a slave is, none is any more correct than another. i was trained at the age of 19, on a slave ranch in California, yet never bragged or even told any of that experience until decades later. Trust me this was not a place where we had any choices, and we quickly learned the meaning of being property. Personally i have always chosen to not use labels until recently, 35 years after my training. Am i a slave, yes i am..do i have value, yes i do...do i know love, yes i do...do i understand what it means to be a slave, yes i do, without a doubt. Served my first Masters will for 26 years until the day he died, learned much and have much yet to learn, never once did i think i was anything more than there to serve Him. Sex is important and there is no greater pleasure than to be free in the arms of a Man that you have given your very life to. My duty in this world to quote a friend " is absolute obedience and exquisite beauty", not vanity, not setting limits...just what i have quoted. While i claim neither Gorean nor Old Guard as my way, i respect both, for each has something of value. To use the words, sub, slave and bottom interchangeably does not work for me, i am not a bottom, i do not play. All slaves submit, however not all submissives are slaves. This is my opinion, and i do not expect anyone else to have the same, because there is no one who has walked in my shoes. One thing that i do know that it takes great strength to walk this path, and if that is prideful (wonders how many actually know the value of slave pride) or boasting, so be it, for it is stated with honor, a smile, grace and dignity.

Iserv, this girl would not entirely disagree with your sentiment that people need to be careful what exactly they call themselves...however in the end alot of this is semantics...you and this one are no more slaves then anyone else...unless ofcourse you are being harbored against your will or arrived on some time warp vehicle this girl is unaware of. The girl's only point was that you yourself make an interesting point, as a gift of knowledge to those you claim may be hurt, but you wrap it in razorwire. Does this make sense? A few years ago, this one was about as hostile as your words are now toward those claiming to be slaves online....but in the end you turn deaf ears to your words...and what you say comes across as a pissing match over who is best kneeler then a serious cautionary tale. Just constructive criticism, this girl herself has received many moons ago...the message good...the hostility it is packed in not so good....kapeesh? giggles....Tact is nine tenths of everything in communication was all this one meant. And as a side it again brings up the ever present..Velveteen rabbit theory of BDSM...what is real? Anyhow? It's ok for others to disagree with you, and no one is forcing you to post. If you do post, you must be aware that you are opening the gates to allow others to disagree and debate with you. Because there is a lot of variance with the definition of what a slave is, you are going to get a variety of responses. I personally feel that if someone doesn't have pride in themself, then they're not going to be able to do a good job, at whatever it is they do. Pride isn't necessarily a bad thing, self esteem and worth need a level of pride, and we should be proud of what it is that we do - for us, for our dominant partners. If you're not proud of yourself or what you're doing, then you should be asking yourself some serious questions as to whether it's right for you or not. I see identifying as a slave as being part of who you are, similiar to being gay, straight, or bi. It's how you ID within a relationship, and it doesn't mean you must undergo years of "training" to be one. Being a slave isn't a "deeper" form of submission, it's just a different sort. Neither is better than the other - it's like saying gay is better than bi, or red is better than orange.

Because people and relationships and (of course) most importantly Masters are different. I personally never set out to be a slave. I used to call myself a sub who was 'very submissive'. I had the slave title assigned to me by Doms. My experience has probably been different than some of the others who have posted here but I still identify myself as a slave.
