quote:
ORIGINAL: Jeffff No it shouldn't and yet..... "An unchecked executive, a compliant legislature, and an overreaching judiciary have combined to thwart the will of the people and overturn their votes and their values, striking down long-standing laws and institutions and scorning the deepest beliefs of the American people." "An arrogant and out-of-touch government of self-appointed elites makes decisions, issues mandates, and enacts laws without accepting or requesting the input of the many." That sounds very much like the last administration. This pledge is ALMOST as silly as the new Democrat logo. My eyes rolled when I read through that part. So far, it hasn't gotten any better in the document. It reads so far as 'pro George W. Bush'. They want to return spending.... "With common-sense exceptions for seniors, veterans, and our troops, we will roll back government spending to pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels..." Yes, because pre-ARRA of 2009 & pre-bailout levels, was sort of the reasoning thatgot us in to the economic mess. You would think they would have learned that. 'Common Sense' would not be the concept I would accuse the Republican Party of having.
