Best advice I've been given (by an old man) is to keep doing everything you'd normally do in the beginning.
Simple and thus powerful concept. (The kind that involves lots of work. [;)])
When it fades, you could ask:
"Why did you like me again? My memory is flailing me."
This could result in a more efficient, targeted approach to mutual satisfaction.
Laser-guided missiles, Napalm, whatever.
(Yeah, I made a cheesy love-war analogy, but these things just write themselves.[:)])
