The rational behind calling evolution a "myth"?.........A question:"why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans?"

Now before her defenders/apologists start playing semantic word games.......evolution is a theory and creationism(fundie non/anti-science)is a myth.

Both evolution of species and creation of species are theories. Christine O'Donnell and William Maher represent an average citizen not trained in science. Their choices have more to do with politics than science: Christine O'Donnell religious, and Bill Maher an atheist. I have no problem with it.

The 'Theory of Evolution' is a Scientific Theory, not a common man's theory. Creationism, is a belief, based entirely on the Holy Bible in Genesis (old world or new world....take your pick). Creationism is vaguely based on the laws of science, and a very large portion of it, you have to take purely on faith. Neither Christine O'Donnel or William Maher, represent the 'average' citizen. Bill Maher (as he likes to be called), has a very decent understanding of what a scientific theory is; Christine O'Donnell is batsh*t crazy like other Republican females (Sarah Palin & Sen. Michelle Bachmann).

A scientific theory must be backed by evidence. Creation, meaning the sudden and instantaneous creation of life either as it is now or not too far different, is not a scientific theory. The existence of living species also backs the following statements as much as it backs creation:

A very skilled programmer has created a simulation in which we believe we are experiencing things which do not exist. Similar to the Matrix.

Perhaps we should call creationism rather a hypothesis. It does not fit into theory category at this level. Creation does not mean necessarily "instantaneous creation", there are many versions people believe. We must also specify what kind of evolution we are talking about. Biological adaptation of species is well demonstrated fact of evolution. The origin of species and the origin of life itself is still not well understood.
