I prefer to call it indoctrination!

I believe the term brainwashing is just that, a term. As a newbie sub looking for training, I'm already brainwashed with societies idealogies (and some of my own) on the BDSM practices. I need to reprogram, and have in some ways already, things like the automatic no way that can come out occasionally.

So, term wise, I would say that is something I need. I need my brain washed of old thoughts that hinder my moving forward. Brainwashing is just seen as a negative term, reprogramming is seen as a positive.

Anniezz338, that's a very thoughtful response -- reprogramming, brainwashing, yes, all terminology. Different from training, and I think that yes, society itself is very brainwashing by nature.

Thanks and at my age, shucking old thoughts is a big hurdle for me....lol. You mentioned in your opening post you liked the idea of brainwashing someone, as you saw it, though it may seem a bit immoral to you. Since everything should be consentual, I would think it should be discussed. Someone is bound to love the idea. But in training, I myself wouldn't like the idea of that too much.
