"Red" © 2007 At my touch, you sigh. In my arms, you can't deny, The darkness at bay, You ask me to stay, No fear, no sorrow, no why. As I kiss you, you smile. As you smile, I feel, Ghosts call from the past, Echoed sorrows holding fast, Let it go; relax for a while. You hold fast, to the pain. The fractured memories remain, The lies, Broken dreams, Not gone for long. How you felt, When you knew, That he wasn't for you, How could you, have been, so very wrong. As you gasp n' sweat, fear dies, Still your demons whisper lies, Fed on flesh, fed on blood, fed on fear. One by one, watch them flee, if just tonight, you are free, You tremble in surprise, and shed a tear. Stars explode, in your brain, Two parts pleasure, one part pain, I revel in your earthly delight. Your moans turn to cries, then to tears, tears to sighs You go limp, I hold you close, and all seems right. I watch you fade at last, droopy eyes, sorrow past, With a murmur, you snuggle close and welcome night. Tousled hair, lipstick a mess, A rumpled pile, once your dress, Your beauty, all I know, until the light. The End
