colosubseeking -> Subspace in males? (4/24/2006 11:02:54 AM)

i've seen quite a few posts on subspace recently, and i believe i understand the general principle (a trance, usually at least partially induced by endorphins in a submissive). But it seems like all of these posts involve a female submissive. i understand there are vast physical and pyschological differences between male and female, including different hormonal reactions that may contribute to subspace.

So my question is this: is it possible for a male to enter subspace, or a subspace like trance?

If any male subs have experienced this, can you describe it, as well as how you obtained this state?

Thanks
colosubseeking

i think the only reason you see all femme sub posts, is because they predominate in the sub world.

it is endorphins were talking here, not hormones. [:D]

Males experience subspace just as females do.  Like orgasms, everyone feels it in different ways and gets there through different paths.  But males certainly enjoy subspace.

exactly  you tend to see more from the female subs beacuse of predomince in the setting, and i think in some cases they tend to be more vocal with there experences share more openly..  but yes subspace is not a male/female thing its a sub thing. and a wonderfull thing at that.. Though i will say for some its harder to get there, i could not for a long time because i couldnt let go, i kept ahold of that last bit of controle and wouldnt let myself drop.. but once i was comfortable enough, free enough..ohhh its a joy for sure.

i can certainly and happily confirm that subspace is not gender-specific........

I don't think it is just subspace in females and males alone.  I have heard, that there is Dom space.

But an interesting topic nevertheless, and worthwhile to read others opinions about.

For the submissive, a very beautiful place, but i'm not sure if that same beauty is same for a Dominant one.

Ok then, thanks for the responses... then part b of my question remains.

Guys: in your experience, does the same "advice" given from female subs to female subs about entering subspace work for you? If not, what do you do differently?

Thanks in advance

What does it for me in scene is the power exchange coupled with the SM. Just letting go and feeling the loss of power and control. The loss of my own strength and power, being totally at her mercy, (or lack thereof.) To be reduced, to feel her empowered, to be taken lower while she climbs higher. Ah the glory of it all!

I've never been beaten to tears, but that sounds about as glorious to me as anything I could fathom.

I hope that helps.

For me it comes from being completely focused on what is going on.  The concentration of attention creates that trance state and feeds on itself.

Yes. I can get my male sub deep into subspace. He goes into a glassy eyed, cannot speak trance of sorts and is jelly in my hands. Its a beautiful thing to behold and also one where I feel most protective of him.
I think if a person, regardless of gender, fights going into subspace they will not go unless you beat them senseless and no one wants to do that.

To me, it feels like I just ate a Brownie laced with some foreign substance.....................oops, I did!

advice from others, male or female on going into subspace. can be helpfull in finding your path. but it more often then not will not be exact, like so many other things, that path tend s to be individual in nature.. what works for some dose not for others.. with the right Dom/me some can be taken down with nothing more then speach, or a look.. some it takes a full play session or a S/m session to have them go down, and as some one said if you cant let go.. it wont happen..  but yes advice be it from male or females on entering subspace can be helpfull but i find it only as a base, things that may work sort of help.. not a sure fire this works..

Been there, done that, Love it.  It's warm fuzzy, floating, like I'm not in my body feeling.  Can't speak, can't see, all I can hear is my mistress's laughter, If she is laughing.  Then I can't even hear that.

It's endorphins, epinefrins, and adrinalins.

I got  a question males can reach subspace?  I thought only women could reach subspace guess I was wrong.  Well my dom hardly ever gets me into subspace I only reached it once.  But will someone please explain to me what subspace for a man means. Is it the same thing as when a woman reaches it?  or is it totally diffrent?

According to my malesub its a blissful state where he feels as if he is flying. He also says he can't tell the difference between pain/pleasure and emotionally he feels so attached to me that he would do anything for me.

While heavily involved in the bdsm community as a sub slave, I had an absurd amount of female slave friends, and we came to the conclusion that there's really no difference between males and females in those whole subspace phenomenon. We also discovered there wasn't as much difference between male and female submissives. What we did discover (and yes, we constantly had arguments with dominants about this) is that the dominants perceived differences due to the fact that they never really did understand submissives in the first place but figured that because they were dominant they somehow had an insight. Even being a switch doesn't truly negate the obstacles to understanding what it is to be someone who desires to be submissive. I used to laugh constantly at the former submissives (now dominant) who also claim to understand submission in that way because they had ONCE been submissive. To understand the nuances of submission at the level of being someone who lives the lifestyle because that's how you were intelligently designed, means that's pretty much the only way you'll ever exist.
