I watched it last night.  I think some here would like this film.   I liked it.

I been watching more video online of late.   :-)   If you see a title in this do tell!   I like an interesting plot.

Hero with Dustin Hoffman is one of the DVDs I have...and I watch it whenever I'm depressed, as well as simply to enjoy it again.

Which reminds me.  I should watch it tonight along with some hot cocoa and marshmallows.

The plot was decent.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Hoffman was so fun to watch, so believable.  Real life bites you in the arse like that...and we are expected to believe the most outrageous things and deal with them.

For those who haven't seen this yet...the main character is down on his luck and going to go to jail soon...then he's is the only witness to a plane crashing at night.  The plane is on fire and will explode soon, so against his better judgment he struggles to unblock the exit and is the last person out of the plane...hauling out people with broken bones and stuff because some little boy asked him to please find his daddy and bring him out.  To make up for some of his losses, he steals a survivor's purse.  He's cussing the entire time he's pulling people out of the plane.  The firemen arrive later, right before the plane explodes.

All this caused him to miss his visitation with his own little boy...his last one before going off to jail.  His ex is royally teed off and won't believe another excuse for letting her and his son down yet again.  I loved it when his kid saw the news on the tv and remembered his dad's excuse, and that when his no good father visited...he'd had only one shoe on and BELIEVED.

I loved the Cinderella type hunt the reporter went on to find the man who fit the lost shoe.  The reporter had been on the plane...and her purse was lost in the explosion.

I'll also never forget at the end...the zoo and the screams.

This movie is kind of taking the place in my life of that black and white movie called Meet John Doe with Barbara Stanwyck(sp?), and It's a Wonderful Life.

I like how the film slams the media.

Everything is a circus.  So true.  And the theme- stick your neck out- or dont.

I loved the scene in how they wrapped it up.   I mean-- what a plot!!
