I would probably go to that link and voice my my protest if there was a link I didn't have to copy and paste.

But that's just too much work.

Not to mention that I have no idea what I'm so upset about that I need to sign a petition.

But kudos on the huge type, very eye-catching.

Always so helpful [:)]

Now, can you click on it, read it and let me know if it's worth the time. I would, but I have a test to study for.

Not worth your time.

servantforuse -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 2:13:15 PM)

It's Bush's fault anyways.

Lucylastic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 2:16:37 PM)

I have to say I dont like the bill, I dont think that the idea behind it is good for the internet as a whole, I do believe that it allows for censorship where it shouldnt,  it wont affect me directly at least just yet, but you can guarantee if this reaches law it will go global.
The ignorance behind the headline tho and the basic paranoid fear and exaggeration   is beyond funny.

Politesub53 -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 4:20:20 PM)

Seems to me the bill is more about counteracting fraud and piracy on the net.

Lucylastic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 4:31:24 PM)

While not a conspiracy  nut..I have no illusions as to what the guv  can interpret various sites to be  and what "special circumstances" are.
I do feel its a slippery slope, but then I am biased having an adult site, which is problematic in some areas as it is

The less interference with the net, the better.

igor2003 -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 4:34:20 PM)

I like that the bill is a bipartisan bill introduced by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) but the OP lays it at Obama's feet.  That evil, evil man!  Hmmm...ya think she might lean to the right just a bit?

Lucylastic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 5:09:49 PM)

just a tad, heh
maybe that will be his job after he gets turfed out in november
LMAO

Just for gits & shiggles I checked the OP profile, seems SHE is from Pocatello Idaho, isn't "the poster who must not be named" also from Idaho??  Could this be a new forum profile for said poster?

Curiously,
Some Knucklehead in NJ

Lucylastic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 5:20:30 PM)

Honestly Pogo..I think there are enough of them to go around that this nick isnt a suck puppet, altho I never say never.Unless it comes to teabaggers, spiders, kids animals, bloodscat and roman showers.
time will tell tho

flcouple2009 -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 5:47:57 PM)

I don't think it is a sock puppet either.  But golly gee it has been so civil and peaceful around here without he who must not be named.

popeye1250 -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 5:54:10 PM)

I can see Obama and Eric Holder on November 3 rd; "Gee Eric, maybe sueing Arizona wasn't such a good idea."

TheHeretic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 7:09:56 PM)

Pogo, I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that you have never been to Idaho. Sanity is actually pretty tolerant and openminded, even, "liberal," by the local standards.

He does go a bit overboard, from time to time, but I hope he'll be back soon.

TheHeretic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 7:14:15 PM)

THANK YOU, Popeye! Much better!

Based on it being a leftie, and a couple subjects of the Crown saying "nothing to see here," I think I may have to go have a look.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 7:14:36 PM)

I'd also say that he who must not be named is a bit more literate than the OP.

TheHeretic -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 7:54:12 PM)

Ok. Copyright infringement is a legitimate thing. I get that. I can see a granting the courts the power to shut down sites by whatever means required. I am NOT ok with giving the Attorney General the ability to do it by Executive authority. Smart liberals (that would rule out the average shortsighted dumbass battalions) would have the sense to think of John Ashcroft, instead of just Eric Holder, and be completely opposed to that as well.

DomKen -> RE: Our President Watching Our Internet Useage (9/30/2010 10:05:46 PM)

The big problem with the law is the proposed blacklist. There's really only one way to deny access to a site if the server won't shut it down and that is to use a DNS blacklist. That would result in US only DNS servers and that way leads to a fractured internet which is bad for all users.
