ORIGINAL: Missokyst We lose power in my town at least once a year for a few hours. Sometimes 2 or 3 times a year in bad weather. And last year the weather was so bad, it took down the power lines leaving us without power for 4 days. We had it good. Down the road from us power was out for 2 weeks. Count yourself lucky only being out of power for 1 hr. This sounds like my neighbourhood. If we have a storm and do not lose power it is unusual. And yes, I think the longest we've been with out was after a bad ice storm one January, several years ago. We were also lucky, it was only 4 days for us but weeks for some areas nearby. Lots of power lines down all over the place. This is why we have a generator and alternate heat.
