I've enjoyed many of your posts.  I think it's natural to balance BDSM discussion with other matters.  None of us live and breathe only lifestyle.  If we did, we'd be much more boring creatures.  I say keep on.  We need more people willing to add insight without flames.

philosophy -> RE: Contemplating silence (4/25/2006 4:01:23 AM)

.......keep posting..........everthing is political.......i fear the person who says that they have no interest in politics.......they are the ones referred to in that old adage (wish i knew where it came from and pardon my paraphrasing) when they came for the Jews, i wasn't a Jew so did nothing.......when they came for the blacks, i'm not black so i did nothing.......and when they came for the gays, i did nothing cos im not gay......and when they came for me no-one came to help, cos no-one was left to help.

RiotGirl -> RE: Contemplating silence (4/25/2006 4:54:35 AM)

awww pls keep posting.  What you say has alot of meaning., plus its always good to hear what others have to say.  so what you're not an expert in the politics area.

I would be willing to bet no one has ever asked you for a tribute, lmao.   M

[laughing]  That reminds me of when I arrived in NYC in the late 80s.  I was the newly made VP of Erdos & Morgan on Madison Avenue but very lonely so I put a personal advertisement in the New York Magazine.  One of the ladies I met was a lovely, tall blonde with a great sense of humour and a lively intelligence.  At the end of the blind date, she smiled at me and said, "I really like you.  I usually charge men $500 to sleep with them, but I'll only charge you $250.

[sounds of the last shards of innocence shattering on the marble floor]

So I have been asked.

JohnWarren -> RE: Contemplating silence (4/25/2006 5:38:32 AM)

Thank you every.  I was a bit depressed last night with the polymyalgia kicking up a bit more than usual and feeling that I'd done enough typing for a decade.  The answers in this notestream helped a lot.

The only problem now is the post office has notified me that they are adding a new zip code to my ego due to the sudden growth.

As long as you don't send a long "I'm leaving the boards forever" post and then wait around to hear everyone begging you to stay...I guess this once can be forgiven.

bandit25 -> RE: Contemplating silence (4/25/2006 6:10:30 AM)

I'm glad to see that you are staying.  Your book was my intro into the lifestyle.  I have a special place for you in my heart...and on various other places of my body.

I've noticed a disturbing trend in my postings.  I came here to post on BDSM topics but more and more I find myself posting in the political area.  I'm not really a military expert; I'm just a former butterbar lieutenant who spent a lot more time taking orders than giving them and a reporter who likes to keep up with what is going on.  Again, I'm not an expert, so I really wonder if I'm doing any good.  I don't seem to be putting out any of the fires and I sure as hell don't really want to fan them.

Maybe the best thing would just to be to op out of the offtopic categories.  Frankly, I'm pretty much torn between the two options.

Post or I will smear dog doo-doo on your door!!!
But no really I enjoy your posts and politics is politics.

P.S.  Butter Bar in Marines? Did u have a B.S. or Masters?

Didn't even have a degree.  Joined the PLC when I entered RPI.  Flunked out so the Corps grabbed me as per agreement.  Then they looked at my test scores and decided to force feed me the rest of the program so they could commission me anyway.  Started off as an 0203 and volunteeered for 0321.

Oh when I do that and I have a few times, but they are short posts not long ones.  I leave; end of subject.  One can get a crick in one's neck looking back.

Arpig -> RE: Contemplating silence (4/25/2006 7:12:59 AM)

Wytchy...why is it that the only measure of a person's worth you recognise is their military record. By that standard neither Martin Luther King nor Ghandi would make it in your books.

John...keep posting, you're posts are generally well thought out and well expressed...and always welcome

Damn, I am shocked!
Some women really don't know how to harness a prize when they see him...

I don't believe it.  I have never seen you display a big ego on these boards or in your writing.  I hope you will always hang around, even realizing all of us need breaks at times.  M

You can't quit posting, you are the only one here that ever agrees with anything I say.

Consider your posts here, a public service, or nuisance (as appropriate).
