Status: offline 		I've been using digital thermometers since the early 90s. You just stick them in the edge of the ear and they have a very accurate read out within mere seconds. They're fairly inexpensive at your local Rite Aid or CVS pharmacy.

Status: offline 		As part of a medical scene, it might make sense, and it is no big deal.  Of course, the thermometer I would use is quite large, with a big flower on the top.  Makes you look very cute with you ass up in the air.

Status: offline 		With all the various objects people use for anal play, there's definetly no reason why you couldn't use a rectal therometer. Personally, i think it would probably be too small to provide much sensation, but as part of a medical scene, it could make sense.

It's certainly do-able, but considering during a scene there is a lot of excitement, which can translate as movement, I'd probably substitute something plastic or PVC for a glass themometer.

Medical play is a very hot area for many people.

I think its more the humiliation factor and perhaps a bit of age regression rather than a strong desire to be penetrated.
