Obama Reported To Suffer from Severe Depression

A series of provocative, leak-filled articles on the collapse of the Obama Presidency, including a report of Obama's "severe depression," and intense fights over the future of the U.S. and the Democratic Party, have appeared on the web, authored by "Ulsterman" in recent weeks. The psychological portrait of Obama as emotionally detached and "empty," and seeking photo ops and oratorical applause, rings true to American statesman Lyndon LaRouche's public analysis of Obama as a "failed personality" and "narcissist," stated back in April 2009. Briefed on the content of the current "Ulsterman" piece, LaRouche thought it "plausible," stating once again that "Obama is going down. The question is can we get this thing under control before it's too late." Ulsterman's source claims to have formerly worked in the White House, and to have a direct source who still works in the White House. The story reports: "Tensions at the White House have reached a critical stage... the President has increasingly withdrawn emotionally from the day to day demands of his job—he has become what was described to me as 'empty.' ... [Obama] is there; he is getting briefed throughout the day, but President Obama appears to have emotionally shut down." Why? "Well, for one, he was completely unprepared for the job of being President of the United States. The demands on one's time, the emotional and physical toll, are considerable.... You have to understand that Obama believed that his ability to orate would be enough—that is proving to have been a considerable mistake on Obama's part, and he is not dealing particularly well with that reality.... President Obama is emotionally shutting down. He is a terribly depressed man." The source says he believes that Obama is taking medication for depression, and that his smoking has increased to more than one pack a day, causing concern among Obama's staff and family. The insider reports that the infighting among the staff is intense; the staff is increasingly dissatisfied with the President, and "when that happens, word starts to get out." To buttress his credibility, the source points to the fact that he reported in advance that Summers, Axelrod, and Emanuel would leave. The source also said that there is intense pressure to oust Pelosi from the Speaker of the House position, as a liability to Democrats, and that the White House supports her ouster. The source claims that he is talking about the disintegration of the Obama White House as a trial balloon: "We are gauging the reaction by those within the party, as well as critical supporters outside the party. In essence,—can we count on Obama for 2012? We are conceding November 2010. We are about to get our asses kicked." But can we get it together for 2012? "The most critical component of that, of course, is Barack Obama. Will he hold up?" And the source says that the idea of Hillary Clinton running for Vice-President, or for President, in 2012 has support. The source says that "just prior to the midterm elections, a significant figure, or perhaps more than one, within the party is going to break out and talk publicly to the media about much of what has been and is going on at the White House and Congress," as part of a "cleansing process as a party."

Wishful thinking.

His narcissism is so strong that he doesnt realize how deep a hole he's in and be depressed over it.

I think the country is suffering from a severe "depression." And not one that can be treated with pharmaceuticals.

He has got to be depressed.   Why would he be happy over his failed presidency?

He did not restore Glass-Streagle.    The fed is not audited.   He did not restore health care to a Hill-Burton Standard.

He is Bushes 3rd term. So should he be gleeful?

HE'S depressed??? Tell him to extract his head from his ass and take a look around, and he'll SEE some real depression. This slick, smooth-talkin piece of work from the Chicago machine needs his head handed to him in a basket. Some of that will happen in November, but we need to be rid of him before the two remaining years of his presedincy are up.

In fairness, he was hardly going polish the turd handed to him by Bush into anything very shiny in his first term... There's difficult, and there's impossible.

Torn from the DNC talking points manual. If he couldnt handle the job he shouldnt have run, and it was obvious that he couldnt handle the job. His ego blinded him to that reality. If he didnt repeat the mistakes made in the 30s we would actually be out of the recession by now.

And now WE'RE hoping FOR change!, change from HIM, and from his leftie-loonies. Something middle-of-the-road and responsive to the needs of the real people would be nice. I must be a hopefull dreamer, here I am talking "responsive to the people" and a body of elected officials.

the mistakes of the 30s...thinking you can borrow and spend your way out of a recession.

Panacea? None was needed. Let the dying limbs drop off and the market would have done its job. That is even more obvious now that the cost of TARP turns out to be so much less than the hysterics claimed was needed to "save the economy".

Stimulus? A finger up your ass provides more stimulus.

If he didnt then he wasnt sober. A deaf dumb and blind moron would know that Blowboy had no prayer of being able to lead once the financial crisis hit, and that his advisory staff would do all they could to capitalize on it.
