Music- do cats enjoy more, or dogs?   So I am online- and my cat hears it.   She seems less into it then when I had a dog.  which animal gets more pleasure from music?

Do you think pets notice music?  Do they get as much joy as humans do from music?

It's been so long since I had a dog that it's hard to say.  One of my cats likes to cuddle up and watch TV with me.  I've noticed that she will respond (look up at the TV) when certain female singers come on.  I've never noticed her responding to any male singers.

The other two don't seem at all interested in music EXCEPT for when I try to sing in the house.  My singing voice really bothers Lily and she will meow at me until I stop.  My singing doesn't seem to bother the other two.

I don't know about dogs, but my cats always preferred TV - either Wild Kingdom or The Animal Channel.

My dog has credit on two albums, has appeared on stage many times and not only likes rock n' roll but likes making music and will turn on drum machines by pawing the switches.  I have many friends in the music industry and have been exposed to dozens if not hundreds of their pets and it seems common that dogs & parrots love music.
