Dumb and dumber.

Someone please tell me again how well-educated the teabaggers are.

Sharron Angle: Muslim law taking hold in parts of U.S.

LAS VEGAS – U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle told a crowd of supporters that the country needs to address a "militant terrorist situation" that has allowed Islamic religious law to take hold in some American cities.

Her comments came at a rally of tea party supporters in the Nevada resort town of Mesquite last week after the candidate was asked about Muslims angling to take over the country, and marked the latest of several controversial remarks by the Nevada Republican.

In a recording of the rally provided to The Associated Press by the Mesquite Local News, a man is heard asking Angle : "I keep hearing about Muslims wanting to take over the United States ... on a TV program just last night, I saw that they are taking over a city in Michigan and the residents of the city, they want them out. They want them out. So, I want to hear your thoughts about that."

Angle responds that "we're talking about a militant terrorist situation, which I believe it isn't a widespread thing, but it is enough that we need to address, and we have been addressing it."

"My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don't know how that happened in the United States," she said. "It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States."

............Dearborn Mayor Jack O'Reilly called Angle's comments "shameful." He said tea party groups inaccurately spread the word that his Detroit suburb was ruled by Islamic law after members of an anti-Islam group were arrested at an Arab cultural festival in June because a Christian volunteer complained of harassment.

"She took it as face value and maligned the city of Dearborn and I consider that totally irresponsible," he said. "If she wants to come here, I will take her on a tour. I will show her we follow the Constitution just as well as anyone else."

......"The fact that Sharron Angle believes American cities have been taken over by militant terrorist organizations that are ruling our citizens under Sharia law shows a terrifying lack of connection with reality and a willingness to subscribe to conspiracy theories that demonstrates she's far too extreme and dangerous to represent Nevada in the U.S. Senate," spokesman Kelly Steele said.

well the teabaggers are the only chance this country stads to get back to anything that resembles functional reality.  Of course they come in all walks of life and often are neither leftie or rightie, (cant have that), so as is typical media loves to pick the idiots as a representative sample of the whole.

the good ole boys dont want any one butting into their party.  no pun intended

4% lead with Harry Harry Blow Barry well under 50% and almost no undecideds. Yup...its close, but Angle has the edge.

Well if it's the "educated" folks who are supporting Harry Reid, being educated isn't anything to brag about. Personally, I'd rather have my head explode that vote for either one of them.

Tell me honestly, what do you see as the lesser of two evils?

Would you really be comfortable with Angle in the Senate?

What would have been different?

We'd still have TARP, McCain would have gone in force to Afghanistan, we'd still be in force in Iraq, and he acknowledged during the campaign he had nothing for the economy.

It seems to me that we were "here" long before Obama was elected.

I'm not sure what "here" refers to, but whether it is the economy or the wars or whatever else you want to name, the "here" started long before Obama ever took office.

Taking over Dearborn?! lol

It is indeed the largest concentration of Arab/Muslim American in the country, but they are by no means are taking over it. They are majority in Dearborn, but this population imbalance has its own history. I live in Dearborn and it is the first time I hear that residents want Muslims out.

Muslims were brought to Dearborn by Henry Ford to work in his factories. Some like to say that he specifically chose Muslims because they were hard workers and didn't drink. However, the alternative version seems to have more evidence behind it. Henry Ford was a big anti-semit and his new love for Muslims was only fueled by his even bigger hate for Jews. He used to publish a newspaper called "The Dearborn Independent", which according to the American Jewish Historical Society was "anti-immigrant, anti-labor, anti-liquor, and anti-Semitic." He disliked both groups, but one of them more than the other.

TARP might well have been different had it not been clear that Barry would win. We wouldnt have the stimulus. We wouldnt have health care destroyed. We would actually be out of the recession. I disagree McCain would have stepped up things in Afghanistan. Barry pulled out if Iraq on the same timetable as Bush and there is no reason to think McCain would have done any differently.

So you got one right. And if Romney were the VP pick they would have own, and we would be a helluva lot stronger country 2 years from now than we will be.
