Hi i am kinda new to crossdressing but love it i was just wondering if anybody could help with with a few questions...

1. i have quite a bit of scruff on my face what is a good way to cover that up or make it less noticable... only thing i have tried was to shave with the grain then again against the grain, it worked ok but still was not that great...

2. does anyone have any tips on what you can do to make yourself not very nervous when you are out and about dressed up, i have only did it once or twice now in a town where no one realy knows me but still was kinda nervous, i would like to be able to go around the town i live in dressed up eventualy but am still kinda nervous cause in the town i live gossip travels fast and i have already seen people at my job get taken off the schedule (not fired just not getting hours) because of personnel issues...

3. what is a good way for a guy to find clothes (right now my problem is shoes) that will fit him and are not super expensive, i have looked on sites like amazon and ebay but realy havent been able to find much in my size...

thanks for any answers you give and hope to get some soon, any other tips or tricks would be appreciated...

For the visible stubble, you might want to invest in a good foundation or concealer.
One I prefer using, although I have no stubble to hide, is a powder called BareMinerals.
Since you aren't very active yet in dressing up and going about town, and dont want to invest
alot of money on some things that may not fit perfectly, check out your local thrift stores such
as Goodwill or Salvation Army. Best of luck!

Drag queen friends of mine used to swear by Dermablend  http://www.dermablend.com/foundations/foundations-severe-flaws/new-cover-creme.htm.

I would also use the heaviest coverage foundation you can, chosing a panstick over something lighter.  Sorry, but I have to disagree with the bare minerals suggestion.  Too sheer in my opinion.

Also, I've heard it said that if you have a masculine jawline, a wig in a bobbed hairstyle can help you pass because it hides the sides of your face, then again, there are longer styles that do that too.

Also, for safety, I have known not-quite passable crossdressers to go out with women in a group.  This tends to confuse violent idiots.  Be safe.

If you want to go out in PUBLIC...
make SURE that you don't care if someone sees you dressed as a woman.

I pity the european cd. The asian cd doesn't have the spanish stubble, the germanic jawline, the dutch adams apple, the french ankles, the danish feet, the germanic height nor the italian pitch.

There's plenty of other sites devoted to that topic. This is a "BDSM" site.

If you are in the US, you can find a fabulous women's razor with the soap and the razor together... It's called inspiration. Three passes of that on your face will get you very smooth.

Then use witch hazel or other astrigent on your face... it will prevent stubble for a short period (hours not days).

If you are in a small town, go to the bigger city in your state and hit up Sephora. Or if you can trust her, get a Mary Kay or Avon rep. If you don't really trust her, tell her it's for a prank, and that you want to pass as female for a short period.

Clothes and Shoes on a budget: thrift shops. If necessary, make it an out of town shopping trip.

My recommendation is that if you are really concerned about getting caught, don't do it. Join a local theater group so you have an excuse or head out of town.

Good luck.

Alison

There are plenty of crossdressing male BDSM participants on this "BDSM" site.
I guess you have been a bit sheltered popeye1250.

Um yeah...crossdressing tips are a pretty valid question topic on here I'd say. Probably even more valid than recipes, computer problems, moving to a new area tips, or video gaming which are all topics that hit the forums regularly and are usually well received. I rather enjoy the wide variety of topics on the forums and the fact that they aren't limited to strictly BDSM -  I mean we all have lives and don't spend our entire day with a flogger in our hand or getting hit on the bottom.

Crossdressing is just as valid a topic as anything else, especially here in the off-topic section of the boards. I myself once had a thread on bicycle riding in this section and how to alleviate the pain of a constantly sore butt- I got some tips and was grateful to the people who took the time to write me.

I'm sorry I didn't actually have any tips for you OP. I do like the thrift store idea to save money and find a variety of sizes....it might help you go more undercover if you can do the actual shopping with a female friend so you kind of have a reason to be perusing the women's section. Or...hunt down garage sales. Tell the people there that you are shopping for a mother/female relative who is an invalid. Or...google large size/wide width women's shoes and plus sized clothing for more sources online. You said you didn't have much luck on ebay...I do remember a cross dresser on there who used to sell his used clothing. Perhaps he is still on there somewhere or there may be someone else?

Welcome to the Forums Tarquinn.
ignore the bad.... make the most of the good:)

I found a couple of sites for you, that I have sent other newbie CDs to before, check them out, use what you can and discard what doesnt apply to you, check out their link pages because there are some great sites out there
http://www.crossdresserheaven.com/
http://www.clcrv.com/index.cfm
http://www.cross-dress.com/

my own personal favourite http://www.wildside.org/

Personally I think a bob looks great on a guy, even if he has a shadow.
I have no clue regarding makeup tho, I now some of the sites Ive quoted will have tips
If you are lucky to have less than size 14 feet then there are quite a variety of shoes you can get, the most popular is the pleaser line (htp://www.pleaserusa.com), altho many dont like the quality, they sure are not prada. Also with halloween coming up you have a perfect excuse to dress up and try something daring without anyone blinking an eye.
While lingerie companies are still pretty lousy at making larger sizes in nice lingerie(much to my chagrin) There is some nicely priced sompanies out there
Ihave a few cd friends and if you wanna chat more, gimme a shout on the other side.
Have fun and enjoy your time here,
Good luck
Lucy

I do not cross dress.

But I DO LIKE a close shave.

A close shave is elusive.

Some guys look fine with a 5 oclock shadow- but I like to be clean cut.

Miss Manners suggests 20%.

Unless he's popeye.

Then you can expect to get stiffed.

We generally refer to a stiff one as 50%.

I am friends with MANY drag queens/ crossdressers, many of them are involved with the Miss Gay America and Miss Gay International Pageant systems.

They usually use panstick to cover stubble. If you need to feel super smooth, try a product called magic powder, it is sold in the ethnic section of most local department stores, and works well on heavier beards or other areas of the body.

if your area has gay bars, it may be a way for you to ease in to the crossdressing sector of your community.

For clothes, alot of my friends go to the local thrift stores. They also go to stores such as Dots, Joyce Leslie, and even the plus sized section of Macy's and Boscov's.

For shoes, Payless has been very helpful, as well as shoeocean.com. If there is a Ross store in your area, you may be able to find clothes and shoes that fit your needs.

UMM.  I thought that cross dressers were not always gay.

I dont know why anyone would want to dress uncomfortable.

Most cross dressers aren't gay.

Try http://www.crossdressers.com for some great advice.

So? Cross dressing is a subculture of kink/ bdsm. If you're going to say this is a bdsm site only, then you'd have to tell every one else who talks of other things,  outside of bondage, domination, sadomasochism masochism, kinky or non kinky the same thing. Or start your own website where the only things that are allowed to be discussed have directly to do with the acronym bdsm.

on the subject of men and make up, maybe its just cause their face is stubbly or what ever, but I have never, , ever, in my admitedly small exposure seen a male cross dresser who can do nice make up. It ALWAYS looks caked on, at least the foundation does, so it never looks natural or nicely done, like  genetic women's make up does.

No, it's not.  Crossdressing has nothing whatsoever to do with BDSM.  That doesn't mean it's not welcome here as we discuss all kinds of things that have nothing to do with BDSM every day.  Popeye just doesn't like to talk about it because he's still in the closet and it makes him feel self-conscious when others aren't afraid to embrace their desires.

That being said, this certainly isn't the best place to get information and tips on the topic and the OP will certainly have better luck looking on sites that cater to it rather than BDSM.  Google should prove most helpful for finding such sites.
