Yep, Paladino is a real turd. Look at the type of supporters he attracts on this forum! That's really all you need to know. Like most Republicans, he refuses to believe that it is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that there is a gene present in gays the most likely governs their sexual preference, not an overbearing mommy or absent daddy or whatever they want to say. But how many Republicans can also explain evolution to you accurately? My guess is none. Just like they can't "decide" whether homosexuality is a "choice."

So because he is a turd and there are some here who support him, that makes most republicans homophobic. Sorry to burst your little bubble, but there are a lot of gay haters on the left also. It really isn't a right/left thing as bad as you want to make it into one. Same goes for the evolution crack. Lot of people on the left feel the same way as their counterparts on the right, when it comes to religion.

No. Not all Republicans are homophobic. Like Ann Coulter, when they see the tide turning against them, they are suddenly a gay's BFF.

But seriously, no, I do not believe all Republicans are gay/gay cause opportunists. Look at Ken Mehlman!

Find me a left wing homophobe. Never mind-- I don't even CARE what side of the political aisle a homophobe is on! ALL of them are WRONG. I am not a partisan, unlike you. I do not feel the need to endlessly defend the indefensible and excuse the inexcusable. That is why I am an INDEPENDENT.

As for evolution, deny that, and, I'm sorry, but you're an idiot.

I really have tried to state my opinion in a non offensive way here on these forums. I believe that some take it as a sign of weakness. So I'll just say that to deny science is to deny reality. Denying reality is insanity.

Moonhead -> RE: Carl Paladino: Kids Shouldn't Be "Brainwashed" Into Thinking Being Gay Is "A Succ (10/11/2010 4:21:57 PM)

Why are the right so homophobic? Are they not getting enough action in public toilets or something?

Gee, talk about intolerance.

I'm a registered Republican, and I believe I have a pretty good grasp on evolution. I don't have anything against "gays" either.  I think they are just like other people, but with sometimes a better appreciation of life than many people who have never had to do a lot of self-study.

I would like to see your information that establishes for a scientific fact that there is a "gay gene".

My understanding is that there is still no single determinative "scientific fact" about "the cause" of "gayness".  Some of the latest research talks about the hormonal bath that the developing brain experiences while in the womb, which can change depending on the genetics and the mother's experience while pregnant. I wasn't aware that there is now a "scientifically establish gay gene", but I'd really like to hear what you base your assertion on.

Scientifically established gay gene
http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-07/has-gay-gene-been-found-female-mice

May or may not have any bearing on human sexuality but it is definitely a "gay gene."

Ann Coulter does not represent anyone but Ann Coulter. So what's your point here?

But seriously, no, I do not believe all Republicans are gay/gay cause opportunists. Look at Ken Mehlman!
Why would I look at him? Do you think he represents anyone but himself?

Actually I was the one who said they were on both sides, you only mentioned republicans in your post, but it is nice to see you are listening.

As for evolution, deny that, and, I'm sorry, but you're an idiot.
Not going to get into a religion bashing contest with you, I think your pretty clear on that one. Tells me a lot about you, I must say.

Not sure who you think sees that as a sign of weakness, but what ever[8|]

Same reason some on the left are...pure ignorance.

Now tell my why you are so bigoted against people on the right?

Very interesting, but I think FucM should stand for fuck men, yea I am twisted that way.

"A group of Korean geneticists has altered the sexual preferences of female mice by removing a single gene linked to reproductive behavior. Without the gene, the mice gravitated toward mice of the same sex. Those mice who retained the gene, called FucM, were attracted to male mice. (FucM is short for fucose mutarotase.)"

Science is not the all encompassing answer that you may think it is... maybe in a few thousand years it will become better. Right now it is or has been determined that only .oo1% of men are truly genetically gay.... the rest are gay by choice or by trauma (gender identity dissonance, rape by males, being sensitive as a child and accepting the feminist accounts that all men are rapists etc and so they do all they can not to be men in order to be OK...) I have spent a lot of time working and interfacing with gay men and women understanding the physiology and psychology as well as watching the science that try’s to support it. Most of the science is skewered and crappy science. Presented to support the pre fabricated opinions rather than letting science speak for itself no matter what it might say. I have studies the processes used as well as the assumptions made during the studies and I have found serious flaws with just about all of them.

No, I am not homophobic, they are adults. I have had several close gay friends and we have shared mutual respect for each other and behaviors that are acceptable or not around each other. It is tiring to listen to the drivel of crap emoting from the politically Liberal with superiority complexes that look down their nose at any opinions that differ from their own. There is no question that these people are emotional snobs and have no real interest in an open discussion because their minds are as closed as a hermetically sealed vault.

Of course, to them and many others, whatever I or anybody else says it is not acceptable in any for or fashion... and thus they must make the usual flamming remark as if it really makes any difference to me in the long run...

If my son or daughter turned out to be gay (and I do believe they are born that way/or not) I would do everything in my power to help bring them to the belief that they can still be successful and happy. How sad that this jerk seems to believe that an entire subset of society should hate themselves. I will love my children AND whomever they love who treats them well.

People still believe that choice tripe?? I am the product of a single mother (she was a bit overbearing) and a weekend dad until I was 18.  If that bullshit theory were true I'd be gay; however I would think you might want to ask my wife & two kids if they think I am gay before you spout that theory to them.

At least science is trying to disprove it`s theories and findings through constant retesting,re-examination and peer review.Always with a goal of accuracy and expandability.

Religious dogma is quite the opposite. It starts with a finding and works backward, only acknowledging what supports that belief and ignoring everything else.

Science is the opposite of ignorance.

I'm sure there are, though I confess I can't think of one off the top of my head.

The left, though, doesn't seem as interested in enacting antigay views into policy.

The ones in California didn't seem interested in giving gays the right to vote either. But I am sure it was because of the huge republican turnout there to get Obama elected that caused that prop to fail.

Fair point. Prop 8 was a heart-breaker.

Care to enlighten us? Or would you rather avoid being made to look like a fool some more.

Did you bother reading the full article in BMC Genetics? I'm curious as to your opinion on whether the masculization of the female mouses developing brain is or is not a reasonable model for exploring possible biochemical and developmental pathways to female homsexuality?

And THAT, to me, is the point.  Does the state of NY really want someone who is incapable of putting aside his personal tastes representing them?

EternalHoH -> RE: Carl Paladino: Kids Shouldn't Be "Brainwashed" Into Thinking Being Gay Is "A Succ (10/12/2010 6:00:55 AM)

I see this guy worrying about everything EXCEPT New York State issues. What does his stance on a gay issue have to do with benefiting New Yorkers economically?
