It's kind of a meaningless question for me because what political party a candidate belongs to has little bearing on whether or not I'll vote for them.

As an aside, Charles, please take a moment and read this helpful guide.  Watching you repeatedly abuse the apostrophe is getting painful.

Hey stef. does bob have a guide to comma usage too?  The aforementioned poster could, apparently, use one of those too.  We'll skip the compound sentence structure and the semi-colon for now.

Considering that liberals out number conservatives by about 20 to 1 here on collarme, this poll might be a little skewed.

Nooooo, say it ain't so.
Maybe we should remember to do a little compare and contrast with this poll and the 11/2 results, just to show some of these guys how totally out of political touch they are?

Indeed. Considering that conservatives out number liberals by about the same ratio in our Armed Forces, a poll restricted to our Armed Forces would likely be skewed the opposite way by the same margin. :-)

All these interesting numbers being thrown around.

I guess I won't be holding my breath to wait for some facts.

You assume that everyone votes based on partisan affiliation.

I don't think he's making that assumption considering the fourth choice on his poll:

"Vote for the person, not the party"

Musicmystery -> RE: Who are you voting for Election Day 2010?! (10/12/2010 10:28:57 PM)

The fourth choice was added long after that post.

Nope.

"53 percent of active-duty personnel described themselves as either "very conservative" or "conservative."

--The ”Military Times Poll,” conducted by the publishers of the Army Times and the independent newspapers of the three other major services--which incidentally also found that most of the active-duty military considers itself very much a breed apart, morally superior to both US society and its civilian leadership.

Huh, I didn't know polls could be retroactively changed. Sorry about that and thanks for the info.

Just out of interest, who did you vote for in that Presidential election the other year?
You know, if we're talking about being out of touch politically. Weren't you predicting a landslide for the Sorebutt/Palin ticket?

Why?
No matter how they campaign when they get to DC they are going to vote the party line.
I used to think as you do. Florida 2000 changed my mind and taught me the importance of Party.
Bart Stupak set that importance in cement.

No.
But I did vote for McCain/Palin. I am, as I have explained many times, fairly conservative and very Republican.
