I do that, purposely avoiding eye contact to make sure i do not send out wrong messages or an accidental invite for a chat.

Then again when i dance i need to look my partner straight in the eyes so i can feel the bond and make sure we appreciate eachother... but i have found that some men start to behave very weird and start showing off when i look at them, it forces me to avert my eyes so they will behave normal and dance good instead of over the top, it is a pity cos it spoils the sparks; if there is no eye contact it is not about us anymore, we could be dancing with just anybody, it becomes more just going through the motions

There once was a friend of a friend and when we met she did not look me in the eyes... it was really strange to talk to her, she was always looking away or closing her eyes... it was months later when i found out that she had a severe crush on me
i never felt any chemistry though... i just thought it was strange

When i first met my Husband i would swim in His eyes, we would hypnotise eachother, i still love looking in His eyes...
He blindfolds me sometimes cos He likes the freedom and power of me not seeing Him

The biggest turn on for me, is when a person looks me in the eye. I demand it. I believe all things are seen through the windows of the soul, when you can clearly look someone in the eye you have nothing to hide. I am different then a lot of Dominants because I want it. I have to look deeply into someones eyes and I appreciate them looking in mine while talking. For some it's a hard limit, I've met submissive men that couldn't, they constantly looked away. It's something I've believed in since very young, proper respect for me, is looking at me while anything is going on. I give it and demand it in return. It's also different for every Dominant, but for me, It's a requirement.

I am in sales so it is very important to make eye contact with people and I tend to notice if people look away in both a business or personal setting since it broadcasts alot about that person.

I am very bold, so I will make and hold eye contact with anyone. I never have trouble with looking into a Dominant man's eye and if someone said they were into eye contact restriction, I would be totally uninterested.

I like when someone stares at me right back. I like that chemical zing.

eyes speak in a way nothing else can.  eyes dont lie.  a person can be saying one thing and theyre eyes can be saying something else.  they can look really deep into you or just settle on the surface and its because of all of that that sometimes eyes can be a little bit daunting too.

im only slow to make eye contact when i have something to hide.

eye contact exposes you like nothing else it can be amazingly powerful and some people can take one look into youre eyes and make a decision about you just from that.

so i think its understandable that you were a bit freaked out, first time exposure, feeling exposed, youre eyes would have given you away completely.  it was natural enough i think

I'm obviously new here and I attended this private party of doms and submissives a while ago. I was really nervous. I felt like puking to be honest. It was the first time I'd even thought about dwelling into this. It was something I've been curious for a really long and at the same time it terrified me. I go to college here in the city, etc. I'm from the city. Though I've 'seen it all' I was mortified. Anyway, everyone's talking and socializing. I know, essentially, no one.

But there's this guy that I noticed from the corner of my eye staring at me. I wanted to look at him obviously but it was the weirdest thing. I really just couldn't. And I felt myself going red. I stood up and went to get a drink and he seemed to be following me. I'm fairly tall at 5'9 and relatively thin. But it seemed like he towered me and I felt this feeling of... 'engulfment' and I just wanted to die lol It seems silly but bear with me. (Sorry that this is so long, btw.) In this deep voice he asks me to look at him. I'm all flustered and shit but I raise my head and look at him. Anywhere but his eyes. I really can't explain why I can't look doms in the eye.

He later, after we had coffee a few days later, told me that that was potentially the biggest turn on for him. That I couldn't look at him in the eye.

And I'm just wondering, some sort of affirmation, as to if this is common. Like, do other doms/Masters feel this way? Like I said, I wouldn't know. Never even slept with anyone let alone have a dom.

But yeah. What's up with this? Thank you in advance :)

Eye contact is the hottest form of D/s communication - period!

I understand, even like that it's difficult for many subs to hold a Dom's gaze. And if that sub happens to be *my* sub, then there'll be times I make her hold my gaze just because it's difficult for her to do so - esp if she happens to be in the shit over something.

While I understand it can be difficult for a stranger sub to hold my gaze, too, I find that annoying, even borderline rude. Such is the nature of a D/s dynamic, there's a "familiarity" in a stranger NOT looking me in the eyes when we speak. A familiarity she/we haven't mutually earned.

Talking to my girl while she's looking at my feet is familiar, respectful, non challenging, expected etc. Damn, it's intimate!

But I also understand if a newbie doesn't get that - and why they find it both hot and confusing to them. Life is ALWAYS about the little things, as is D/s....

Focus.

*chuckles* Some of us require this -intentionally- of our servants, either for short-term or protocol situations, or over long-term. Our household is split. Most of our Keepers use eye contact restrictions sometimes, and a few use them -all- the time... it's really a matter of personal preference. Some of our Keepers prefer to require the servant to look them in the eye, which is a challenge for some of our servants... especially those who have been in previous high-protocol situations with eye-contact restrictions in place.

' shorts NOW you have my "complete" attention. Lack of eye contact... not so much Eyes are the gateway to the soul.

In case ppl dont get it I want to see the eyes not lack thereof.

And here I thought all along that you gouged their eyes out with your bare hands.
Somewhere, deep down inside you have a heart. Kinda like the grinch?

I don't. For me, it's all about obedience. I'd just as soon engage with Carol in an entirely vanilla fashion ... or close to that anyway... all except for the fact that my "suggestions" aren't suggestions. I think it's probably reasonably true that just like in other things, each Dom is going to have some unique mix of this, that, and the other thing which trips his trigger.

In fact, I quite like it that Carol typically looks me directly in the eye when I am giving her a command. It's very clear that I have her undivided attention.
