This is no doubt an important race here in Flordia. The 2 major candiate's for this race are Alex Sink the democrat vs Rick Scott the republican.Flordia is mainly a "purple state",so this race could go in either direction.I do hope Flordia is smart enough to vote for Alex Sink. She would be the first Female Governor of Flordia,if she win's.She is a moderate Democrat who has alot of buisness experience in her background.Rick Scott,on the other hand,is the wannabe tea bagger who also has some buisness experience. He is also the biggest fraud there is as well.He is the former CEO of a healthcare company here in Flordia. His company was slapped with the largest Medicare Fraud case in USA history.Afterward's,he was basically fired from his position. Not before getting a nice $300 million dollar package to pack his bag's.Of course,he has used that money to try and "buy" his way into the Governor's mansion. This guy is such a joke.I can't believe he even won the Republican primary down here. There's conserative Republican's who can't stand this guy. This guy can't win. This really isn't about democrat's vs republican's in this one. This is about making sure some fraud can't just buy his way into the Governor's mansion.

Scott's been endorsed by several central florida counties, so I hear.  But I haven't checked that rumor out.

In my 18 years in Florida I found that the words "he cant win" means Bank on him.

Remember the first time J Bush ran. His entire campaign platform, mission statement and advertising campaign was "JEB"

he damn near won.

Hillwilliam, I find that to be true in most places, not just Florida.  I also don't find Florida to be a 'purple' state, which is why I don't see Sink winning, as logical as she seems and as much as I agree with what she says. But I also realize she's a politician and what she says may not necessarily be true in the end.  I am finding there is very little logic in politics.  It's all about agenda's and I can't stand to see 'us, the people' led around by the nose, which we so willingly do in the name of politics.  Rick Scott, to me, seems like a radical we don't need.  I'd damn sure take a republican like Jeb over Scott, any day.  But thats just my 2 cents on it.

Does it really matter how people vote in Florida? It didn't seem to make much of a difference in 2000...

Actually it does.

Rick Scott was one of the original promoters of the tea party movement.

He poured in millions of dollars to this supposed grassroots movement.

He, along with Dick Armey, funded the teabaggers for their own vested interests in stopping health care reform.

Scott has a chain of walk-in health care clinics and he used the dupes in the tea party movement to try and prevent the legislation that would harm his business.

So yes, this would have a larger political impact than just in Florida.

Having just received my sample ballot for Florida I see there are seven choices for Governor/Lt. Governor. Granted, the race is basically between Scott/Carroll and Sink/Smith, and since the numerous poll results televised in annoyingly greater numbers these days, these are the two teams that most Floridians will decide between.

But, there are five other choices plus a write-in slot. The question comes down to... as it always does with each election... does one vote their conscious by selecting from all of the choices, choosing the candidate that most closely matches their personal beliefs or does one vote for one of the two "big party" candidates, as voting for a third-party may be considered a "waste of a vote?"

Personally I'm undecided whether I'll be voting for one of the third-party candidates or writing in my own Governor/Lt. Governor team. I do know that I won't be voting for either one of the "big party" candidates. I don't trust either of them.

That's me told.
(I was just making a cheap joke about the recounts being stopped by the Brooks Brothers riot, and the Electoral College informing the Supreme court that Bush had won even if he'd lost Florida, to be honest.)

I know.

That was my fault for using your post to take a shot at the teabaggers.

It wasn't directed at you.

Understandable. It's horribly depressing that they're allowed to get away with all of this "people's choice" crap when you look at the types who are bankrolling and organising them.
