PeonForHer -> Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 6:39:56 AM)

I've been whistling this as long as I can remember.  No-one in the UK knows, so I've decided to ask across the world . . . .

I've a feeling that it might be the theme tune to some awful TV show for kids - but  that's only the vaguest hunch.

Please help!  Go to my profile and listen to the audio.  All suggestions gratefully received.

Peon

Nice accent.

Do you remember if the original was also whistled? (Whistling can be decieving.)
As is, reminds me of an American cartoon.

GreedyTop -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 7:21:48 AM)

whistling? sorry.. got hung up on your VOICE..

mnottertail -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 7:25:35 AM)

right, well it isn't the tune to the battle of agincourt.....

it sounds vaguely familiar....and I am with the other here, can you tell us anything more about it or surrounding it?

soul2share -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 8:41:54 AM)

wow....OMG....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....  :puddle::   Oh wait...what was the question?  Dayum, sweetie, but I LOVE your voice!!!!!!

Anyway, nope, I didn't recognize it either, I don't suppose you have any lyrics to go with it?  Your whistling sort of fades in a couple of places.....maybe if you hummed it instead?  You pervs BEHAVE!

OohAahMrs -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 8:56:08 AM)

I've listened to it twice, complicated but catchy, fraid i can't help you though. On the other hand, good way of getting people to your profile!

windchymes -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 9:08:57 AM)

The melody sounds very John Philip Sousa-ish......?

LadyRian -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 9:20:07 AM)

It sounds operatic, Italian, possibly Verdi, but please don't quote me on that!
I commend you on your whistling, btw. Difficult for anyone to whistle in tune. You do it well.

Tantriqu -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 9:20:39 AM)

Sounds like the ragtime hit 'Pretty Baby': from a Bugs Bunny or some other classic Warner Bros. cartoon? (and I eschew any Freudian assessment):

"Everybody loves a baby, that's why I'm in love with you,
Pretty baby,
Pretty baby,
And I'd like to be your sister, brother, dad and mother too,
Pretty baby,
Pretty baby.
Won't you come and let me rock you in my cradle of love,
And we'll cuddle all the time.
Oh, I want a lovin' baby, and it might as well be you,
Pretty baby of mine."

Hope I've tamed your earworm.
And I agree, you should record lurve poetry for Audible or CM Talking Books :-) Yummy!
Peon + Cinnamon Peeler's Wife = happy puddles

Missokyst -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 9:35:00 AM)

Sexy voice! LOL You should have hummed that tune. I tried running it through my shazam app on iphone but it was too short to peg.

poise -> RE: Please name this frigging tune! (10/14/2010 10:36:23 AM)

That song sounds very familiar.....I spent some time in You Tube trying to match it up
with tv themes from the UK. Im sorry I wasn't able to figure out what the title of the
song was, but I'm almost positive that these are the lyrics to it.

There lives in England a handsome lad named Peon
Who has always managed to keep the ladies turned on
With a peek at his bum or a full frontal pose
With his wit and his charm, or his meaningful prose
He dared to taunt us and tempt us by whistling a tune
We all scampered to listen, then trembled and swooned
Now our fingers are glued and we keep pressing play
This 36 second audio is the highlight of our day!

sashays away....whistling a fine tune...
