MrKicia -> October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/14/2010 4:38:01 PM)

Alright this will be the first toy of the month entree.  The goal of these threads is to share information and experiences with the different sex toys we use in the BDSM community.

Please share what toys you like or dont like.  What works best for you and how you use it.  Please be aware that everyone is entitled their own opinions, arguing over those opinions is surely not going to change anyones minds.

With that said, this month will be all about GAGS. I will start us off, enjoy!

Ok, just a preface about my wife and I, we are beginners.  So they toys that I post are just beginners toys.

The first gag we tried was something like this (cant find the exact one)
http://www.extremerestraints.com/ball-gags_150/the-candy-ball-gag_4401.html
It was "flavored" but that didnt last long, it quickly started to taste like rubber and made your mouth burn.  The burning and taste made it very uncomfortable to wear.

The next gag we tried and still have
http://www.extremerestraints.com/mouth-gags_22/ring-gag_92.html
I like this gag, its just a little small.  But other wise works well and keeps your mouth open for different activities during play.

My wife doesnt like overly complicated or massive head gear.  I guess its a turn off for here to see that kinda stuff on me.  She likes to keep it simple when it comes to gags.

We have one that is all leather, and has a thin strap running through a woven knot made of leather, like the top of a flogger, i think it is called a pineapple knot. Easy to breath through, works well for long periods of time.

We have 2 others that are all leather and locking, with a leather piece that fits in my mouth, one larger than the other. These are both more "serious" gags, and have lots of tooth marks..;)

What we don't have is a basic ball gag, but have been looking recently.

edited for typos.. as usual..lol

I was sort of kidding when I suggested gags for the first thread [:D], but they are fun, so... [:)]

I can't find mine, as Sub Shop discontinued it. An overactive gag reflex means that many styles don't work for me, but this one does. It's sort of like this:
http://www.sub-shop.com/images/products/detail/2414a.jpg
but the mouthpiece is smaller and shaped like a bit gag. It's pretty basic, but it does the job. Any gag that forces something into my mouth (like a penis or inflatable gag, or using panties) is likely to produce... undesired results for any Dom not into receiving Roman showers, so my choices are a bit limited. How do leather mouthpieces work long term? I've always been skeptical that they would hold up because leather generally isn't a material that does well with water and is porous making it difficult to clean.

oooog! Such a broad topic. I don't know where to begin!

We <3 gags! Well, I <3 them at least, so she's learned to semi-<3 them. :P

Generally, gags for us are the aesthetic appeal, not so much to muffle her. By default, she doesn't talk a lot anyhow. :P I won't say a muffled moan doesn't have an appeal to it, but most muffle in some way to give me that enjoyment. Some we've found can be quite uncomfortable for long periods of wear, so what we pick may have to do with the length of gaggage (?) as well.

Favorites ball gag: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Locking-BALL-GAG-red-silicone-ball-GB-39-RED-/380274940880?pt=Adult_Fancy_Dress_UK&hash=item588a271bd0#ht_1819wt_905
I see these around a lot. It is comfy for long term, small enough for most mouths (probably too small for larger mouths or some men), and doesn't have a strange taste.

Another popular ball gag: http://www.cosmeticsolutions.com/Woman%60s-Ball-Gag-Purple-13/dp/B001ALOVYE?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=froogle So...I really like how this one looks, at the pliability of the ball is great. they used to be called "jelly balll gags" a lot when I saw them a few years back. Couple problems, though...the wide leather straps will dig into the side of your mouth after time, and it can become pretty sore (not a huge deal). Bigger problem: Everyone I know complains about the taste and a burning sensation. I didn't think the first I had was so bad, but it's super-noticeable in the second one that we purchased.

Most used gag: Duct tape! Something just pretty about it, especially with all the readily available colors. It's also quick to apply, and easy to use for extended periods. Any Walmart has 10-15 colors to choose from, but it's pretty thin...not as thick as a standard duct tape (or even as thick as the colored stuff there was a few years ago). My current favorite is probably the "industrial strength" silver duct tape by the Duck Tape brand (http://www.duckbrand.com/Products/duck-tape/standard-duck-tapes/industrial-grade-duck-tape.aspx). It's not overly adhesive, but much thicker than standard duct tape, so you can really feel it compress over your lips. Common misconception: No...it doesn't hurt, ya babies. Ya...a tiny bit, but not much at all compared to 100s of other things most people do all the time. If you're a guy, you should probably be freshly shaven (or if you're a hairy girl..hah), but other than that, it's fine. :)
One negative to mention: It's pretty easy to remove with just your mouth and some effort, once learned. Since we both enjoy gags, she never tries, though...or is probably aware of how to do it even if she wanted.

Here's a site having retractors that work similar to a ring gag. They work on the lips and are comfortable to wear. It's a vanilla site that will sell to individuals.   http://practicon.com/Lip-Ex-Vertical-Expansion-Lip-Retractors/p/70-5564/c/440/

ricken -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/18/2010 4:46:03 PM)

I like a simple ball gag in her mouth, I use mouthwash to keep it clean. We use the less expensive ones and she never complained about bad flavors. When we are finished and I clean up, just wipe it down with some scope and again before we play.

I love the drool down her neck and face, and love the sounds of her moaning under it.

I always have facial hair!  Just thinking about having my face hair ripped out...OUCH!

Great post though.

pwnerandpwned -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/19/2010 6:05:37 PM)

Hrmm. Always facial hair because of a beard, we both agree we like the look of panel-covered ball gags for male submissives. If you just always have a bit of stubble, because it grows so fast, she said she likes the look of a standard ball gag on a guy.

CollarSubGirl -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/19/2010 9:23:17 PM)

Master wants a force feeding gag where you don't actually have to puree the food before forcing the girl to eat it.

MrKicia -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/20/2010 4:38:00 AM)

Im no expert but with a gag wouldnt you not be able to chew?  Puree and liquid type foods would have to be the only way to go?

Takeylarose -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (10/23/2010 10:54:48 AM)

Something super cheap and easy to pick up would be a pair of chop sticks and small rubber bands..

Stick your toungue out pinch it between the chopsticks with the rubber bands and there ya go..

Personally I haven't tried it yet, was recommended to me by a friend but sounded like a good idea..

DaddyDomR -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (11/1/2010 8:50:02 AM)

OK just found this, and yes I know it's November!

Being rather new to this topic there are a couple of questions I thought I needed ask!

1) When a gag is used for a long play sessions since it, I assume works by immobilising the tongue, how would the sub be able to swallow? I assume they end up dribbling / drooling everywhere and making quite a mess!

2) The material of the ball seems generally to be of a plastic / rubber. Does anyone know if there are any that are silicone as this is ideal if the sub has allergies?

S1L1 -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (11/1/2010 2:52:13 PM)

1) It depends on the design of the gag - some will allow you to swallow, other... not so much. Most gags will make you drool, but something with a small base and an inflatable or large inner piece will minimize the drooling.

Examples:
http://www.extremerestraints.com/penis-gags_154/strict-leather-stuffer-mouth-gag_495.html
http://www.stockroom.com/Locking-Ball-Gag-P1299.aspx

2) Yes, you can find gags made from silicone.

bravemax -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (2/13/2011 8:15:02 PM)

Most gags we've tried are either inclined to come off like the chopstick gag mentioned above or still allow for considerable volume of moans and screams. We really need an effective gag to play hard while our kid is sleeping.

Best we found so far was a pillow case over the head with a bit of hose in the mouth and then duct tape all round (except for nostrils.)

MissEmery -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (3/20/2011 12:32:39 AM)

Does anyone else have a bar gag (bit gag or pony gag) with the hard bar that goes across the mouth?

I'd like to find something comfortable, and easily cleanable that I can wrap around it. The bar is hard and I'd like to soften it up on the lips and teeth.

I'm considering a 7 ounce leather wrap that closes with a velcro.

Has anyone tried anything else?

txurinal -> RE: October toy of the month: GAGS! (3/20/2011 7:58:42 AM)

so many gags, so little time. I have quite a few. I have the horse bit, a ball gag, hoods with gags attached. I think the best gag is duct tape. Tape fits securely when wrapped completely around the head and seems to work the best as far as keeping sound down
