My Sir and i spent three days in Tunica - he played blackjack and came out ahead a wee bit. I played the slots and lost my arse.

Does anyone have any set way they play the slot machines to win, or is it pure luck?

but all in all, we had a fun time, and i would enjoy going back.

Pure luck. The only thing I have heard was on a special on "travel channel" about beating Vegas. They said that the more coins you put into a machine, he 'looser' it gets. If you are going to play a dollar a throw, then, it is better to put 20 coins into a nickel machine than to put one into a dollar machine.

Bottom line. Play enough, you WILL lose a certain percent.

With the slots, it depends on a sequence of hits.  It is descriptive on the movie "Oceans' 13".

There was a casino about 15 minutes from where my Dad lived.  There are certain machines that are set with a higher pay out.  Those are usually in high traffic areas where they are seen paying off.

My Dad made friends with some of the servers.  They used to point him to the machines that were paying that day.  He almost always came back with more money than he left with.

I don't play slots.
All you have to see is; "This machine pays out 96%."
So, for every dollar I put in I get back .96 cents?
Sounds like a "deal" to me!

Just assume you are going to lose all the money you brought to gamble, and that way any money you win is just gravy.

And bring along your favorite companion for a sure bet for fun in the hotel room later.

If the casino will allow you...why not grab a drink and watch for the tourist types. Keep an eye on how much money they are pumping in a machine and if it has payed off. If not and they leave grab the seat and your odds should increase for a pay out.
