LOL

Your post made me laugh, honestly. What job prepares anyone to be President, with the exception of those who were Vice President to begin with?

Being the Governor of Alaska?

Umm. . . let me get this correct. . .

Congress people have asked for money AFTER the bill went through.

Which means that the money was gonna be spent "whatever."  And so congress-people are asking for money for their preferred projects.

This seems fairly normal.

So. . . I am just asking. . . if your congress-person votes against tax-cuts, but they pass anyway, should you be still taxed at the "before" rate?  How do you feel about that?

They fuck`n voted against it.And screamed and cried like babies. And ran against it.Are still fucking running against now,in the present election cycle.

Now they`re going to ask for some of it on the sly?

No need to thank me for spelling it out.

It passed... and they continue to bitch that what passed isnt capable of creating jobs. Yet there they are, behind the scenes, wanting a share of the pie they insist wont create jobs.

Behind the scenes?

You are kidding, right?

No, it won't create jobs.  The whole "shovel-ready" thing won't.

What exactly are you surprised about?

What are you so shocked about?  Whether or not this money should be given out is different from 'this money is going to be given out' and I want a part of that.

There are two separate issues.

Or I could be nuts and be the only person that sees it that way.  I hope not, because I think that means I need to run for office.

So help me out here. Are you saying that if my Senator votes against going to war that everyone in my state should be exempt from going?

Preparing to be president has to begin in early childhood and continue on through grade school and college and ones chosen career or careers.  Positions of responsibility can help prove that someone has leadership abilities. Think CEO, General, Governor, etc.

One thing thats been proven for us is that a shadowy community organizer / unknown freshman senator should be passed over for a parties nomination for the highest office in the land until more has been revealed about that persons character and ability.

Not that anyone ever pointed that out prior to the 2008 elections... [8|]

I agree, it's like when you are going to lunch in a group and the consensus is to eat at some place you'd prefer not to go to, it's best to sit in the car but still pay for part of the bill, and get nothing in return.

perfectly logical...

Well, we are also now aware that being a washed-up B movie actor, or being a career republican politician (once a VP) who has a criminal mind and a fundamental insecurity, or a guy whos claim to fame is going bankrupt in oil (best thing on his resume) is also not a good career path to be a great president.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Republicans against stimulus,...ask for stimulus money (10/20/2010 8:05:22 AM)

He didn't exactly think that one through

You can only spin it so much before it becomes a lie

quote:

As president of the Screen Actors Guild, Reagan became embroiled in disputes over the issue of Communism in the film industry; his political views shifted from liberal to conservative. He toured the country as a television host, becoming a spokesman for conservatism. In 1966 he was elected Governor of California by a margin of a million votes; he was re-elected in 1970.

He was a washed-up b movie actor. Piss poor president who started us on the road to this overwhelming debt, an appeaser, a traitor who traded weaponry to Iran which puts us where we are today with them.

What lie or spin?

I didnt ask what jobs one could hold to be proven a leader. I asked what jobs would prepare one to be President. there is a world of difference there.

Sanity -> RE: Republicans against stimulus,...ask for stimulus money (10/20/2010 8:39:43 AM)

Which is why I italicized the words "help prove" in that post.

Many career paths can help prepare a man to lead, my point is that knowing if a man is actually prepared requires some time in the public eye, something that Obama lacked which is why the nation generally and the Dems in particular are today paying a severe price for not knowing who Obama was in 2008.

mnottertail -> RE: Republicans against stimulus,...ask for stimulus money (10/20/2010 8:59:18 AM)

And now after that tour de force of nothingness, why are the republicans bellying up to the trough for this money when it runs against their principles?

They were against it before they were for it, again.

tazzygirl -> RE: Republicans against stimulus,...ask for stimulus money (10/20/2010 8:59:25 AM)

I dont agree with that "severe price", but thats not for this thread.

His ability to weigh issues is proven.

His career is constitutional law... umm.. hello.

We have had 44 Presidential terms. Im sure everyone of them were extremely more qualified than Obama to take the position he was elected too. [8|]

And these guys are trying to squeeze out an admission of hypocrisy over Obama`s successful war policies, like blood from a stone.

I really don`t think the software is there to understand concepts like hypocrisy, truth or lie.

It`s the only way to cheat the system of reality.

You also pointed out his lack of "executive experience" in comparison to Palin.

Constantly.

How did all that work out?

Do you think Obama is going to decide to quit in the next few months because people are just being too mean to him?

I think it is more like pissing and moaning that you don't want to eat there but ordering the most expensive thing on the menu when someone else is paying.
