Status: offline 		On a related note- I asked Anne Northrup (former R. congresswomen), now part of the Consumer Product Safety Commission why she thought that relaxing US safety standards was a good idea if US companies didn't benefit? She was bellyaching that she couldn't get toys for her six kids, because Chinese mfgs like to use lead in the alloys of children's bicycles (I think it allows the tubing to bend without kinking.) She also had no problem with lead in zippers. I tend to think that we know lead is a problem, that bicycles left in the rain will rust, and the lead in the alloy may become more mobile and wind up in our children's bodies. China has enormous environmental nightmares to deal with, including a large population of retarded kids due to lead poisoning. So why exactly does Anne Northrup want to relax our standards? My question to her- that wouldn't keeping our standards in place force toy manufacturers to resume manufacturing in the US, brought first silence, then a response, that none of the toy mfg were thinking about manufacturing in the US. My response: time for some new toy manufacturers then....Companies going bellyup which just consist of a few well paid MBA types with a work force in China will not cause me to shed one tear.

one of the top selections was regarding 2004 information about Bush's economic advisor saying it was GOOD for the US to outsource. So its not exactly new is it,  but some people wouldnt believe my source so I thought 19000 links they might find something that they could say was right leaning propaganda  I mean non  uber liberal.
