Doesn't matter, since you can't roll them up anymore. The old toothpaste tubes were made of metal...probably pot metal...and would hold their shape when rolled up. New tubes are plastic, so they always stay erect. Want the name of a good therapist?

When using a tube, usually from the end. But the toothpaste I currently favour is in a little bottle (the colgate 2 in 1 stuff), so it doesn't matter.

WELL FIRST OFF, I TURN UP THE BOTTOM FLAP AND THEN I BEND IT SLIGHTLY SO THAT IT FITS SECURELY INTO THE TOOTHPASTE HOLDER UPRIGHT AND THEN WHEN I USE IT I ALWAYS SQUEEZZZZE IT FROM THE BOTTOM HOLDLING THE BOTTOM OF THE TUBE LOWER THEN THE TOP AS I APPLY A PERFECT AMOUNT OF MY PINEAPPLE FLAVORED TOOTHPASTE HOMEMADE BY THE WAY AND CAN BE PURCHASED FROM ME BY EMAIL ONTO MY TOOTHBRUSH WHICH I CHANGE ONCE A WEEK AND THEN I MAKE SURE NO TOOTHPASTE IS ON THE SIDES OF THE ROUNDED OUTLET AND SECURE THE TOP BACK AND THEN ROLL THE END UP SO THAT THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF TOOTHPASTE AGAIN IS READY FOR ITS NEXT APPLICATION AFTER LUNCH THAT DAY BEFOR APPLYING MY TOOTHBRUTH TO MY TOOTHLESS GUMS...............GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR THAT GINGIVITES UNDER MY PLATES![:D]

I have a toothpaste tube roller, which winds the tube from the bottom around a little roller - very handy as I have arthritis.

I try and squeeze from the bottom but ya know having three little kids it always ends up squished in the middle with toothpaste all over the place - ah well they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions so Im well on my way smiles ruby

I guess I squeeze from the top because the container sits on its lid so the toothpaste is always at the opening ready to be squeezed onto the brush. I am addicted to the new Crest vanillamint. It is the bomb.

I squeeze whereever it makes the gooey stuff come out. Seriously, I don't get anal about toothpaste until I'm almost out, then I'll squeeze it up from the bottom to make it last.
