Dressing to intimidate is an overt act.
Carrying a weapon is an overt act.
Swinging a club is an overt act.
Using threatening racial epithets is an overt act.

republicans were accused of voter intimidation in Fla in 2000 because there was an empty, lights-off police car parked two blocks from a polling place.

All while being black.....that could mean "special circumstances" during the penalty phase.....right?

truckinslave -> RE: Polling Place Shenanigans (10/24/2010 10:07:32 PM)

Man in a white sheet and combat boots, swinging a club, calling blacks "darkies".

No penalty phase there, uh?

You want to get to the truth of what is in that mans heart, you don't think it's a hate crime??

My question would have to be, will the Black Panthers and other Democrat party favorites feel emboldened to carry out even more outrageous attacks on the civil liberties of dissenting American voters, knowing how the Black Panthers in the above mentioned case got a wink and a nod from this president.

You should be ok in Iowa big guy.....no need to be afraid [:)].

I don't think it will have to go that far, Tom.  I think our republican death squads will get to you before we have to do all that.

Moonhead -> RE: Polling Place Shenanigans (10/25/2010 9:05:53 AM)

Well, given that the Republicans were resorting to pretty blatant and unconstitutional measures to stop blacks voting in 2000 and 2004, I'm surprised there's all of this pissing and moaning about a group who might vote Democrat doing the same thing.
(And the spectacle of Mr Open-Carry esquire bitching about people carrying weapons is even funnier, innit?)
