They do seem to have made up their minds, O59

Here's a link for the running tally at a glance. Repubs are up 30 seats in the House, with less than half the seats accounted for.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/

All the networks - including MSNBC - are saying 50 to 60 seats picked up by the GOP in the house.

How's that tingle now?

How did the Tea Party candidates do?

I tried to vote for them, but I couldn't find them on my ballot

The bull goose looney is gone..Grayson, an embarassment to all Americans. Now Franken has that title all his own. Whats most interesting about the results though, is that the Blue Dogs are getting wiped out. There is no such thing left as a "moderate democrat" and that is likely to push Lieberman over to the GOP caucus, which is like an addtional 1/2 seat loss. If the last 4 years have looked polarized, you aint seen nothing yet.

Even though the Dems maintain the majority in the Senate many Dem Senators are up for re-election in 2012. They watched many of their Senate and House peers walk the proverbial plank in voting for Nobama's initiatives only to be sent home for it. GOP or Dem - their main focus is re-election. I think that is going to temper the way many Dems vote over the next few years possibly even giving the GOP a defacto level of control in the Senate or at least more control that their 47 seats imply.

I've been channel surfing trying to catch a little blurb about soon to be ex - Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi and her reaction to the mid terms. Seems that shrew is keeping a low profile.

Actually, it's more serious than that. Not only are 24 dim Sens up in 2012, many of them are in heartland, red/purple states. You know, the ones they lost in so badly yesterday. Absent major improvements in the economy or some as yet unforseen event, the Dims would appear poised to do as well in the Senate in 2012 as they did yesterday in the House.

Seriously, DomImus... she has a very good point.

It's childish to stoop to name-calling (or in this case, name-distorting), and an obvious effort to marginalize.

The same goes for referring to Democrats as "Dims" or "Libtards".

Is that how you wish to be viewed?

Lets not forget the 10 states that will now have republican governors. These blue states, mostly in the midwest are now red states. Bad news for the dems in 2012.

Thank you....it is one thing to drop his title(a form of protest I guess) quite another to intentionally mangle his name.

And here in the Commonwealth it's business as usual. No surprise really.
Even Suzanne Bump < Dem > won. A woman who hired a man who served 24 years for taking part in Satanic killings. Including him kicking around the head of one of their decapitated victims. You know it's a fucked up state when that is an electable candidate.

mbmbn

Yeah, that guy should be in jail for life!
I heard they even voted down reducing the sales tax in Mass to 3%! Is that true?

Given where the bar was lowered to during the previous administration, Mike, going without the title isn't much of a dis in protest.

You know Rich I didn't participate in that sort of shit.....so I don't feel as if my right to be offended here has been compromised.
Respect for the office goes hand in hand with respect for the country and the flag...at least in my mind.
Perhaps that seems trite today....but it's how I feel...has something to do with service to the country....which does not require wearing a uniform.

Well, I don't recall you objecting all that strongly in the forums at the time either, Mike.

Well given that I joined in 2007.....I could just claim to have missed most of it ,couldn't I ?
But while we are on the subject I don't see where you consider yourself the conscious of the right either....how often do you take sanity, willbur and truckin to task for their outlandish remarks?
So because neither of us jump on every silly post here.....we shouldn't be allowed to point out that which irks us?
Thats quite a standard you propose.

What am I proposing, Mike?

And yes, I have commented to plenty of people on "my" side.

Close your eyes, pretend 19 passed, and that you are in CA, Mike.

Have the best night you can.
