im sooooooooo blue....
confronted my bestie when i discovered the codeine cough syrup was nearly gone.
she is the only one who could or indeed would snitch it.
there was a denial upon the confrontation....and i backed off and was like  'oh well i have a refill'
just feel like i have been fucked without so much as a kiss.
and feel i have no more bestie.
loss seems to find me.
any body here have a hug?

Friend of mine went through that with her husband. The guy was stealing her pain medication and begging for more.

we had done alot for each other and by me calling her out on it....and her denying it....

the chasm is wide from now on im sure.

when she tells her hubby i accused her....whats he gonna think? i am just floored.
she comes in here freely with her own key.....
i am just devastated over it. im ok mind u.....she has the problem......i think she took it to trade to get pot for her her hubby. or for $....

who knows
i just know it was her that did it because there is no other explanation.
just wish i kept my mouth shut and held it like a dirty secret.

why would you give a key to your home to someone you know lies, steals and is an addict? I'm suspecting you know she's that type of person since you automatically thought of her being the one who took it.

Imo I'd be finding a new friend and changing my lock.

wasn't aware of the sticky finger situation ....suspected something last month with some pills......dismissed it....til tonight.
i am afraid i will be changing the lock.....she never treated me like i was a schmuck.

and i think she took it to trade it up for goods for her hubby.....not for herself....
regardless i would never steal anything from a friend.....and i shouldn't be friends with people who do.
just sad it was my neighbor and my closet pal for a year

Look, it is just the pain medication? No need to change the locks.

Then stash the stuff someplace out of the house. Go to the pharmacy, explain the situation and ask for fake pills and normal syrup and put those in your house. Tell your friend that they are such great pain relievers - and have a laugh when they disappear and she later indignantly complains about the quality.

Benefits: you keep your best friend and you have some terrific normal cough syrup - as well as some fun.

Unfortunately many people have this problem. My youngest is on Ritalin which means that on weekends when he has friends over, I keep the bottle under lock and key. School days it sits out. Pharmacies sell lock boxes for this.

However, change the key. You don't want her, her husband or any of her druggie friends 'borrowing' it and cleaning you out wholesale, selling your computer and tv to buy drugs.

In the meantime, retain enough composure and self-respect to deny this person any further contact or entry into your home, even if she's lame enough to knock on the door like nothing happened. If she or her husband come calling, do not open the door to them. If they are at all insistent, call the police.
Get your lock changed TODAY.

Get the refill.      Be all happy - humming - singing- clapping and shit.

Tell her you never felt so good!

But what you do is swatch the meds.    ( you hide the good stuff.  and leave what she thinks is the codiene out)

See where I am going with this?

You can then,   catch her in the act.....      make a big sceen.   and threaten all types of trouble.

Gosh-  that is up to the OP on that.    I dont know enough about the house hold.

I do know- that a face to face caught in the act- would nip it in the bud.  There is no deniabiltity that way.

Unless they proceed from a position of honesty-  the relationship- will be fraught with problems.  

I subbed niacin tabs for codiene - in a sim situation.   funny as heck-   he popped 4 of them.... thought he was dying!    LOL

OP - in your position, I'd change the locks.

If she has a conscience, she'll shut up and accept it without a murmur. And maybe stop stealing.

If she doesn't, then you can do the "someone let themselves in and helped themselves to my meds. I'm worried cos this stuff is NOT good if it's not your prescription. I don't know who did it, so I'm changing the locks so NO-ONE can get in. It sucks to have to do this, but..."

This time it's pain meds, and you didn't make a big deal of it. They'll figure you're not so fussed about being burgled, and do it again...and again...and ....

Don't be a mug. Nip it in the bud now.

Re-reading her post- it sounds like the trust is already broken beyond repair.

If it were me- I would change the locks- and cut my losses.
