OP, no reply is an answer, it means no.
Now for the explanation of why women don't say no thanks. It's because if we don't reply we don't get follow up emails saying we're too fat to fuck, or that they hope someone slices us up starting with a knife in our vagina. And yes I've gotten that, but it worse words.

But if we say no, if we reject someone, lots of men take that personally and spew venom at us. Sometimes just one email, sometimes weeks worth of it. All for a one liner saying no thanks. We aren't being deliberately rude, we are protecting ourselves.

I don't open mail from people I don't know, so I wouldn't reply to someone I haven't spoken with real time or on the forums. So my answer is if your looking for a reply from me, and I don't know you, you wont get one.

I don't send any random messages, but when I do message my friends, Yes I get a reply.

I assume by "ad", you mean "profile".

If I contact someone from the boards, almost always. If someone who never posts, hardly ever.

That said, I feel no obligation to answer spam in my inbox. Not answering unsolicited messages is not poor "manners".

Edited to add: OP, I just looked at your profile. No pics of you, nothing about you as a person, just what your kinks are. I'm not surprised you get no responses.

I typically reply to all mail. Pleasant ones, will get a pleasant response. Rude, crude & socially unacceptable get my NY attitude in full force.
Illiterate, poorly written text speak gets a very aesthetically scripted, erudite and verbose reply.
If a message is in CAPS LOCK, I DO THE SAME, AS THE SENDER MAY HAVE A VISION PROBLEM.
And, of course, if T/the P/person U/uses S/slashy S/speak.... L/lol

sometimes I will reply. If it is someone from the forums giving me advice I won't answer.

If it a people from the other side, I tend to ignore them and delete.

If it is from a certain, you betcha that I am answering, but the knickers are excited.

OP: this is not just a hookup site like Adult Friend Finder (lame). No one will be interested in you unless you learn to speak/type so that you may be understood better. Write something in your profile that tells people who you are besides a random list of fetishes. Post a recent photo of yourself, NOT of your private parts, and better if you're smiling. Take the time to READ the profiles you are interested in, and when you send a message to that person, be nice, give compliments, and sound like you give a damn. These are the things that will get you noticed and set you apart from the crowd. I hope this helps.

Actually, I was seconding what Celeste wrote......she pretty much explained it in a nutshell.

I answer the folks that I interact with here on the boards, have filters set for my bulk mail, but I don't really get a lot of mail from too many others that I don't know. I may send something to a person unsolicted, usually just a comment about a post or their profile. I won't answer one liners, or from someone who is obviously a scammer.

I'd say about half the folks I write to reply. Some are opened and not replied to, some, the person apparently never comes back to CM and occasionally one will be deleted unread.

It does not appear that you have an understanding of "manners". It appears this is the definition you are referring to, however, it does not apply to sending unsolicited contacts to strangers and their response, or lack thereof, thereto.
