Obama looked a little stressed on that show. I guess he knows what is coming in just a couple of days. It will be interesting. Will he move to the middle, or lose even more dems and a 2nd. bid for the presidency in 2 short years..??

Yeah I've noticed that most Presidents seem to go grey (or greyer) in their first term, Obama's definitely no exception, having to deal with all of the problems going on in the US with the economy, failing education, and fighting 2 wars.

I thought it was nice that he didn't talk about the midterm elections, that he focused on speaking about the issues his administration is working on. Pointing out that there has been progress, a fair bit of it, and that he intended to continue to make progress at a steady pace rather than trying to gamble on a huge jump forward that could backfire, made me more likely to want to vote Democrat than anything else he could have done.

He looks very grey and it's only been 21 months.I think he should lay off of the cheese burgers and quit smoking.

He did not do himself any favors appearing on the Daily Show. He seemed desperate.

Will he move to the middle OR lose democrats? You say it as if those are on opposite ends of a spectrum.  He's getting flack from the left for being too far in the middle already, for being too accommodating to the republicans.

And true, he has spent too much time reaching out to a GOP that wants nothing to do with him at all.  The way they see it, they can worry about saving the country when they're back in power, and they have no interest in working with Obama to save the country.

Poor guy, he was naive enough to think the republicans would put the country above their opposition to him.  He had WAY too much faith in them.

Huh? What was his entire appearance about, if not camaigning for the midterms? When he specifically mentioned House Dems, by name, who need the turnout? When he finished by speaking directly to the most unlikely people (demographically) to turn out for a midterm, and telling them to go vote early?

He didn't go on a mad bashing and blaming of Republicans, (and the crack about not getting a Daily Show welcome at the Republican Caucus was funny), but c'mon, this was a campaign event from start to finish.

I think Stewart did good job asking the right questions. Obama looked reasonably good for propaganda purposes. Obvious lies, of course, for a trained observer: Summers the Brilliant and the cost of S&L crisis.

I didn't watch the tape, did he mention anything about closing that Mexican border and starting to enforce our immigration laws?

With a majority in both the House and Senate, he had no interest in including the republicans. He rammed through an unpopular health care bill all on his own. Now his chickens have come home to roost.

Nope. Not a word about Iraq, Afghanistan, or Gitmo, either. He also neglected to throw a shoutout to Molly Norris.

Funny,he didn`t talk about the midterms and mentions republicans once for their use of the filibuster,a con bragging point.

Obama does bash insurance companies, wallstreet and the horrible culture in DC.

But what do the robo-cons hear? lol

Do promise you'll stay up with us for the late returns on Tuesday, O59. It just wouldn't be as entertaining without you.

I voted for Obama.I think he has done a great job considering the culture that is in Washington. No,I don't agree with everything he has done. However, condersing everything,he has done a good job.I'm just afriad America is turning back to it's ignorant way's all over again.Do you really think Obama could change thing's in under 2 year's?.......... You have worthless Tea Bagger's who never liked him anyway's.He should of just went full speed ahead with his agenda.Trying to work with Republican's was a waste of time.We see how well that worked for him.Republican's have only become more radical and militant over the past 2 year's with the Tea Bagger's taking over their party.

Rather than making 5 different posts spouting right wing 'tardation that has no pertinence to anyone else's posts, how bout you condense all your little thoughts into one post and post that?

There's maybe a few Republican's from the Northeast that are still Moderate.Mainly,Republican's don't have a choice in the Northeast.Either find way's to compromise and don't get voted in at all.Maybe the rest of the Republican's should be looking to the Maine Senator's on how to get thing's done, not from the right-wing nutjob's that are the Tea Bagger's.

Because he was responding to five different posts. You may not like how he responds, but he does have the right to respond as he wishes within the TOS guidelines.
