As was pointed out on page 1, such a thing would depend on pros ticking the box. While the honest ones will, the 'bait and switch' types that the OP wrote about probably won't. If they aren't being honest and up front in their profile, what makes people think that they will tick a box marked 'pro'? So what then? Make the volunteer staff review a few thousand complaints from users that so-and-so is a pro? How are they to know for sure, and how much time do you think it would take to review those complaints?

It's not a horrid idea, I just don't think that it is workable.

O.K...let me correct myself.  I could have put it better.  The board seems to be comprised of both pros and non-pros, weekenders and 24/7s.  During discussions, the subject of pro vs. amateur...so to speak...often comes up and is discussed.  But the profile side is different...that is what I should have referred to.  There, there is no discussion going on..just search boxes...and I believe that a search box for pros and, perhaps, one that states pro & lifestyle would be helpful.

Mea culpa.

I voted "no". What's the next step after creating the boxes, forcing people to use the boxes and a flurry of reporting anyone who doesn't to the site's admins when the profile language doesn't match the boxes checked? The next step is that someone will complain the boxes aren't being policed well enough.

For that matter, what about all the constant complaints that many of the submissive female profiles are actually men in disguise? The site already HAS boxes to indicate male/female, and it appears that even those aren't used as intended.

But If they add more choices, people will have to use them!  The Profile Nazis will whine about them in the forums until the site appoints someone as a Profile Checkbox Compliance Auditor then all will be well.  Perhaps there's a young, wanna-be pimp, supposed mechanical engineering student with the writing skills of a ten year old suffering from blunt head trauma who is up to the task?
