Here in the US, our technology is falling far behind other places like Japan. HERE is a short video showing a very realistic looking robot and showcases some really advanced features. I know the video is limited but what it does show is pretty amazing! The dreams and visions of Gene Roddenberry are not too far away anymore. I actually hope to see production models in my lifetime. I just hope that companies here will jump on the bandwagon soon because this has the potential to bring back a lot of the jobs we have lost in recent years.
