How do ladies like to see their men dress? Not just when playing, though that too, but around the house and when they go out to earn money. What are the visual turn-ons? How do you compare a man in shorts to a man in a suit?

I like my man to dress appropriately for the situation.  He'd look rather silly hanging out by the pool in a 3 piece pin striped suit.  On the other hand, in an office shorts would not be appropriate.  Personally I do not find clothing a turn on.  It's the man and who he is that is the turn on.  Clothing, unless inappropriate for the occasion is immaterial.

I don't date clothing.  I date the man.  I would never consider replacing him with a tuxedo that I'd cuddle with all night.

Why is it that some people have to try and shut a message string down, trying to say it is somehow a silly question, without putting it in those words. Peppermint, if you think this question is suggesting that clothing is a replacement for a man, then I guess we must come from a different planet. I also don't believe for a moment that clothing, or rather how a man is dressed is never important to you. I would agree that once you know someone, the way they dress may be less important when judging them for who and what they are, but before we know someone, clothing does play a big part when it comes to sizing up that person.

I also think clothing can play a big part in our play relationships, because most of us have been taught from a very early age that some types of clothing project power and control, while others denote a passive nature. If I were trying to humble and humiliate a male, I certainly wouldn't put him in a $5000 pin stripe suite, but instead may dress him in a manner that would look childish, maybe even dress him as a little girl. Clothing certainly can set the scene during play, but unless you have a fetish for a certain article of clothing, it isn't the focal point, but rather the window dressing for the lack of a better expression.

-And why is it that some people have to try and play Thread Sheriff, accusing somebody who gave their honest opinion of asshattery?

Clothes do make the man. I'm more attracted impersonally to a dude in a suit, like that's what I'll get all drooly and fangirl over, but I prefer the men I'm involved with to have a casual, maybe slightly metal look. Just like dudes love to see a girl in an oversized t-shirt, I like my man in ratty old jeans, beat up sneakers, a band shirt, and underneath it all, the fancy pants briefs I know I bought him. Rowr!

Neatly and with a sense of personal style. That goes for both at home/casual and at work/business.

I like when you can see a man is comfortable in what he chooses to wear. That confidence shows through whether he's bumming around in faded jeans and an old t-shirt or if he's dressed to the nines in suit and tie.

Depends on the context and appropriateness of the outfit in regards to the situation.

None more black, that's how the wife likes to see me dressed.

"How much blacker could it be?"
"None. None more black."

One eternal fashion rule-Black is the new black.
(and works best in Armani)

suit and tie when going to work or dressing up for an event.
jeans or nice pair of slacks and nice sweater or collared shirt when a formal casual type of place
jeans that fit him oh so right and tshirt for casual times

basically it's all about the clothing fitting him correctly and shaping his features
