Toppingfrmbottom -> I am going reverse trick or treating toHAPPY HALLOWEEN! I am going reverse trick or treating night (10/31/2010 6:17:47 PM)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I am going reverse trick or treating this year. I am to old to go door to door for candy, but I do want to go out, so I am going to go to my neighbors I know and give out treats to THEM. I am going as a celestial being, and every few houses I'll switch off from being a celestial being to a starry night. One of the pairs of Jammies I bought recently is dark blue almost black, and it has a big yellow  half moon and smaller suns and stars on it, an the pattern repeats on my jammie bottoms.
I went to walmart and bought a package of pens, some magnets, some tripple a batteries, some aa batteries, and some ribbon and tissue paper to make little present pouches with. The tissue paper is orange and it says things like boo and happy halloween on it, and the ribbon stuff is that stuff you can make super curly with the edge of your sizzers.
I wanted to get actual gift pouch bags, but they only ones walmart  had sucked.

TFB, I think that's a fun idea! I'm sure they will appreciate your thoughtfulness. [:)]

Aw heck, Toppingfrmbottom...too bad you live too far away cuz anyone coming to my door dressed up on Halloween gets candy.  I hate the age limitation, it's helping to kill the holiday off and for me it's about seeing as many costumes as I can and giving out candy (in my case, whole candy bars) as a reward.

When I lived in another town, my neighborhood was very dead for trick or treating and I had to drive my kid out to the area where most every kid was taken...so I dressed up as a witch, went with him and had a cauldron full of goodies on my arm...as we passed kids in costumes (and sometimes their adult or teenaged chaperones were in costume) I handed out candy.

You're making me think of dressing up next year and reverse trick-or-treating my neighbors. [;)]

Thanks every one:)

Yeah Cynthia, it's a shame some towns make it so people over 12 can't trick or treat. I met a 22 year old yesterday who wanted to go trick or treating but his mom said no, and I kind of agree that those higher in age shouldn't go door to door, but maybe a party or something where the theme was trick or treat, and it was encouraged:)

Heck I'm almost 22 and I went trick or treating last year! The few comments we got about our age were dismissed when we asked them about the 7-14 year olds that go around in T-shirts and shorts just for candy, when we went out of our way to get awesomely cool homemade costumes to show off to the world! Not a single person refused us candy.

Then again that could partially be because we live in Portland, and Portland is a weird city.

Both last year and this year Master and I went as Ghostbusters - him as a normal Ghostbuster and me as Zuul. Which is a heck of a lot better than T-shirt and shorts and when asked what they're dressed as for Halloween, they say "uhh.. I'm a teenage boy."

This year we'd tried being normal adults and went to a halloween party - which SUCKED. We're going to go back to being childish goons and running around in costume for free candy next year. Just 364 days til our favorite holiday comes around again...

I say it doesn't matter what age you are, so long as you went to the effort of actually celebrating the holiday and dress up and have fun.

I guess if your neighbors have no problem with it. Around here it's absolutely dead, nobody hardy does trick or treating any more, which is so sad because I remember when we were little kids, we'd dress up and friends and my brother and I, or just my brother and I would go out an all the houses would be dressed up spooky. I don't think there's very many kids in this neighborhood any more, other than my neighbors 9 year olds.
