We had 13 robocalls on the answering machine over about a 2 1/2 hour period. The hilarious part was that the first call we had from a friend all night, was from a professional political operative who has been putting in 18 hour days for weeks. He's done now, and was on his way out to blow off steam before sleeping for a week.

LOL  I unplugged the house phone from the wall - everyone I know calls my cell not the house.

I am thinking of telling them to unregister me to vote tomorrow.     I find these calls intrusive.

I would love to see politicians lose their loophole in the "No call list". They claim that not being allowed their exemption is an infringement to their freedom of speech. I say that their freedom of speech does not trump My right to "Quiet enjoyment of domicile".

Politics is one of the loop holes.    Auto calls is too.   That is one of the things that they were trying to fix last I looked (last year sometime) on the FCC site

I agree.

However the issue is deeper then this.

I resent ANY robo calls.   I would have to buy software- I would love a system that the caller has to press a code to make my phone ring.    Caller ID would not suit- as I still rush to see if it is a loved one.

I have the bare min- for landline.    My bill is $7.46 a month.    I would have to buy caller ID and so forth for this.

I had a box that made a tone- before that dumped sales calls.

Early on- there was a home answer machine that  "call attendant"  It was taken off the market- I suspect due to the phone company wanting to sell "services".

My cell runs  $10 a month.   I need the landline for DSL- which runs $14.99 a month.  I do not have cable or TV service.

Google Voice- lets me call US/CA for free - as well as texts for free.

So I dont really even need a phone card anymore.

I do tho- use the landline to call local people- because they DO have caller ID and want to know who is calling.

They'd probably get the charities to call on their behalf. "They support us! Don't you support the people who want to save babies?"

Indirectly related to ROBOCALLS (deluging the public with politics).

Apparently this time around they are dumping huge online advertising cash compared to previous elections, for the last two days my ECPM (how much I get paid per 1000 pageviews), went up around 50%. I can't wait for all that corporate cash to flood the next presidential election. HEHE..... I'll be RICH for like a week....

Unless it is just an anomaly, I'll know tomorrow if things go back to normal. Hell, I hope it wasn't the elections, and google just changed something, but I think it's the elections flooding the market and driving up ad prices.

I just thought of something, the last two days are the only time I ever received anything I'd want from a politician.
