ORIGINAL: pahunkboy Isn't is uncanny that America prefers coffee? Not really. After the Boston Tea party it was incredibly unfashionable to drink tea. Coffee replaced tea as a source of caffine and also issued as part of the rations to the Contentinal Line. Makes sense to me that American culture has retained it's love of coffee - Tea continues to be associated with English culture in America, though not nearly as strongly, particularly with sweet and iced teas.
