LadyPact -> Another New Button (11/2/2010 11:24:12 PM)

Maybe this is another case of it just being new to Me, but I noticed another new button on the mail feature.  The button is "mark as spam and delete".  Does anybody know if it also blocks that person or does that still need to be done separately?

GreedyTop -> RE: Another New Button (11/3/2010 12:16:25 AM)

I *think* it does as advertised..

VideoAdminAlpha -> RE: Another New Button (11/3/2010 1:54:11 AM)

Ok VAA.....does it serve any purpose to you and the other Admins? Or is it just smoke and mirrors peace of mind for us?

I do like it.  The other auto reply buttons only recently showed up for Me.  (I think that has to do with Me using Firefox.)  Not the type of insta messages that I would send, so I don't use them.  This one, I most likely will.

Thank you for your time.

There is now a new (or never noticed before) button titled Newest Users.
I noticed it this morning when I signed in on the other side. It was lit up in red
similar to the Who Is Viewing You button, and is positioned right below that one.
When I clicked it, there were a few pages of male dominants in Louisiana who
have recently become members on Collarme.
Although Im not searching, it seems to be a pretty neat tool for anyone who is.
FRESH MEAT at the click of a button!

I almost started and additional thread on that topic this morning, poise.  I think you pointed out exactly what is going to be a detraction of the feature.  Now, it's like a red neon sign to point out the fresh meat so they (at least the female ones) can have an even greater avalanche of newcomer email.  I'm grateful that I won't be popping up on that list.

Yeah I noticed that, too.  Hate it.

Im fortunate I'm not on the list as well, as it did get tiring refusing some of the advances.
However, I have met some wonderful people here from the forums who are searching,
both male and female, and it is with those people in mind that I feel this is a positive.
I have faith that the majority of women who will be bombarded with mail will survive
the onslaught or abandon ship.

Yep. Bad idea.

Edited to add: When I click on the button I am shown a page with the header "Newest Local Users". No matter where they are located in the country they are listed as no more than 100 miles from me. Scientific proof - the universe really does revolve around me.

barelynangel -> RE: Another New Button (11/9/2010 4:27:18 PM)

Don't they already have a new user button, down where the favorites and such are that's always been there?  I don't understand why they would have to add a newest user button if they already have a new user button.  I mean what's next the REALLY newest of the new users?

So these people don't show up in the person's search if they are curious who is near them?

Steponme73 -> RE: Another New Button (11/10/2010 9:45:01 AM)

I think the newest users button is new too. Or at least it is new on my computer.

I think this one is a bit different, as it seems to be focused on geographic location.  Specifically new users that create an account and they appear to be within a hundred mile radius of you.

I can see the potential positive of it.  If someone is the friendly type and sees someone new in the area who signed on, they might want to send them information on the local munch of something.  I had all kinds of folks doing that kind of thing when I moved here for good restaurants, nice attractions in the area, and such.  In that way, it could be a convenience.

I think the old way, it listed all new users to the site, regardless of location.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Another New Button (11/10/2010 11:06:57 AM)

When I opened my account, I lived in Oregon. I now live in Maryland. Unfortunately, changing my location on my profile doesn't seem to affect what to them is my local area. I still find people in Oregon are only 4 miles from me & people on the East Coast are 2934 miles from me. Weird little glitch, iffen ya ask me.

I might be wrong, but I think you have to change the zip code on your account and not just the location on your profile.
