The first thing I would do is show them how to make their water drinkable. I have been to Mexico 5 times. Nothing but bottled water, Coronas, and no ice in mixed drinks. After this many years, they can't even get this right.

A year or two back, one of your government departments reported that there were two states in danger of structural collapse - one of them being Mexico, due to widespread drug violence.

If their police force, military and government dissolve, the current flow of drugs into your country will look like a trickle. How do you propose the collapse should be prevented, and if it happens (anyway), what would your own goverment do then?

Personally I think we are getting away from the scope of the question and more into attacking people instead of context.

If their "governing" forces/entities dissolved, then I believe that a drug war would break out and take over with a series of "warlords" similar in nature to Somilia.  If that occured, I do believe that the following would have to occur:

1.  The border would be closed to all but "assylum seekers"  (that is mostly everyone that can't afford a gun and shitload of grenades and ammo)

2.  The violence would spill over into our country, Canada and others. (that is why countries like Ethiopia sent in troops to Somalia)

3.  That the US and Canadian militaries in a Unified Command (A command consisting of more than one nation's forces) and go down to quell the violence.  (Re the Mexican War)

4.  Once that occurs, I do believe that the citizens of Mexico will petition to become a part of the United States, using the existing states in Mexico as their individual borders.

That would stop a lot of the illegal alien argument (tho not entirely because there are illegal aliensfrom other parts of the world), The Mexican standard of living would raise (we have all kinds of programs to assure this), and their infrastructure would improve tremendously (other programs)  And to make a lot of people happy, NAFTA would pretty much disappear.

My 2 cents

Ken,how the fuck are you managing to draw our northern neighbor into this doomsday scenario of yours.....were all that you hypothesized were to happen Canada would still have US as a buffer.....I see no reason for them to get involved.

KenDckey -> RE: Yanks - if your neighbour Mexico collapses, what will you want done? (11/4/2010 8:32:10 PM)

LOL   the US has a history of getting people involved in our issues.   LOL   I personally think a lot of it has to do with sharing the blame   but anyway   that is what I think  lol

The above statement would seem to indicate that the author has never been in the same zip code with a history book written for those who have progressed beyond grammar school.

Your statement is factually incorrect. All wars are fought for financial agrandisement.

If the latter is the basis for your chasing me on the playground and pulling my pigtails, then I feel obligated to note that upon checking to see if "agrandisement" was a funny UK way of spelling "aggrandizement", one of the first results was an anarchy forum preaching the same flawed logic.

What I want to know is just what Ken figures Canada would contribute to the effort.....we have Sea Kings and 2 submarines!!

slvemike4u -> RE: Yanks - if your neighbour Mexico collapses, what will you want done? (11/4/2010 8:45:49 PM)

Perhaps the submarines....we could use them to insert some SEALS on the beach in Alcapulco(sp?)?And we could allways use some more maple syrup....for breakfast and such, you guys have that stuff right?

tazzygirl -> RE: Yanks - if your neighbour Mexico collapses, what will you want done? (11/4/2010 8:48:15 PM)

KenDckey -> RE: Yanks - if your neighbour Mexico collapses, what will you want done? (11/4/2010 8:51:04 PM)

Noooooooooooooo   lol  I want the reactivation of the 1st special service force.   They have a really neat tradition of excelence.   For those that haven't heard of the 1st special service force, they are the Devil's Brigade   (also a movie was made about them)

It is quite common when a poster has no logical argument to offer they will invarriably point out spelling errors or quote function protocol.

Your boner for internet arguing none withstanding, I'd given you the benefit of the doubt and was seeing out of curiosity if your spelling of the word was the standard where you are. What I found was a forum for anarchists and they were expressing your sentiment of a war machine for profit.

I couldn't care less about spelling. If I can decipher it, great, and if I can't, then the poster didn't make an attempt and are therefore ignorable. The issue of it is a non-issue, though I'm curious of what you mean of quote function protocol, being an irregular forum user. This is using an inordinate amount of quotes to a post, I assume?

I point out a factual error in your post and now I have a "boner for internet arguing"
Perhaps you should educate yourself about subjects you choose to expound upon before you make such foolish statements. Then perhaps you would not give me a "boner"

There are some on this forum who feel that they are the "hall monitors" of posting style. When they are unable or unwilling to answer difficult questions I pose for them they reply that my posting style does not conform to what they feel is proper.

"One of God's own prototypes, a high powered mutant of some kind, never considered for mass production. Too weird to live, too rare to die."

You have a fine eye for some of my better work...thank you.

Not to worry, they would have to make it through Detroit first and that might not be as easy as it sounds.[8D]
