It's sung by Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss and , Emmylou Harris is the other one. Is it true the lyrics are about someone who found an abandoned baby and thought it'd be better off dead so they posioned it ?

I think it's originally called didn't leave nobody but the baby or something, it's on you tube as both. Devils lullaby, and didn't leave nobody but the baby.

I don't know what the lyrics mean. The song was in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? I can't remember the scene the song was played in. Maybe if you watch the movie it will give some meaning behind it?

Great music from that movie. I've got the whole soundtrack on my ipad.

Yeah, it was great music It sent shivers down my spine. I do think it's something sinister though, because the ending lyrics.
