I do not see why it is so negative to spend your own money in an effort to make a positive difference in country's life?  How can you beat establishment candidate without sufficient funds? Some democrats have done it. No problem in these cases?

What is wrong is that who gets elected has come down to who has, or can raise, the most money.

Which is why it was nice not too see that happen here.

If I had that kind of money I wouldn't be living in Calif. and I'd be hiring nice looking porn starlets to "work around the house."

Would that include the 2008 Presidential election?

One person is known to have broken multiple laws. That person entered the country illegally, committed fraud/perjury when she was hired, and used a social security number not her own.

But, none of it could be her fault. Surely not. She's the victim.

Seriously. What planet?

I don't post here much but I can't let this pass.

Yes, she is a victim of the capitalist oligarchs in Mexico where after their last default it was revealed that 80% of the mexican population made no more than $9 a day and because 20 years later...they still make about $9 a day...she had to move here just to try and survive. NAFTA simply being a profit center for American capitalists, did nothing for Mexican labor or American jobs.

So she comes here, cannot afford an immigration lawyer takes what she can get where both parties are breaking the fucking law, so we blame the poor woman, fire her ass, pretend not to know her (anymore) and we are what...supposed to give the rich billionaire American capitalist a pass even to the tune of all of those crazy Calif. voters who would have her governor. Why am I not surprised ?

If you want porn starlets that's exactly where you should be living.

San Fernando's Open Secret

(AP)  In the vast, suburban expanse of the San Fernando Valley, one of the largest industries thrives quietly inside unmarked warehouses, walled estates and hidden studios. In fact, some locals call it "San Pornando Valley."

The region is home to most of America's pornography industry - videos, Web sites, phone sex businesses, adult toys and even the old-fashioned dirty magazine.

If we really wanted to help the Mexican people we would set about changing the regime, and kill the drug cartels in the process.

That's what we need. More military spending and stretching our resources even further.

You people watch too many movies and skipped too many economics classes.

MM, I didn't say I wanted to do it. I frankly don't care much about conditions in Mexico. If they lack the cajones my forefathers did, well, that's their problem. If they want to change their condition, we drew up the battle plan.

But if you care about the plight of the Mexican people, the thing to do is to change conditions in Mexico.

Which extends into a real challenge. Conditions are worsening in most of South America, and populations are growing. The flood of illegals/refuges headed northward can reasonably be expected to grow into a tsunami. I'm talking not about people looking just for work, but for food.... The fence may eventually need integrated gun towers.
