Well,I can see there are still a few state's that are blue.My homestate of New York is still a blue state. The Democrat's maintained the Governor's Mansion and both U.S. Senator's won by a landslide. The entire country didn't exactly fall for the tea party slogan's.I think it's time I go back home,Flordia can have there fraud Rick Scott and crooked business partner's..... I am not an extreme liberal.I do not believe in socialism. However,I would certainly describe myself as a social liberal.I won't apologize for that.I believe in human right's and REAL personal freedom.....

It wasnt that they fell for the tea party slogans, its that those who voted were angry at the government as a whole. The GOP sees this as a win for them. But im willing to state for the record that if this turns into a legal fest for the GOP party, as threatened, the party of no continues with no, no advancement in the way of jobs or the economy is realized, we will see an even bigger wave of anger come 2012.

Actually, Charles, I'm starting to see the makings of a future conservative in your posts. Hanging around here is going to ding up the coat of propaganda, and then it's just a matter of time and awful experiences with bureaucracy before you say, "I still want the world to be a better place, but government is not the way to do it!" You may need to vote libertarian a cycle or two, but you'll be a registered Republican before you are old.

I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that in the US the "red" states are the ones who hate the commies.

There isn't much blue on that map right now. The entire midwest went red on Tuesday night. If this economy doesn't turn around soon, Obama will have big trouble in 2 short years.

Yeah, and he can't win without Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
He should be going up to Detroit instead of to India!
He wants to do more "free-trade" with India and S. Korea? Isn't that how Ohio and Michigan got the way they are now? "Free-trade?"

If I am understanding and remembering things the right way (which few do), when looking on the map you will see more red than blue.  Typically the northern east coasts and west coast (CA, anyway...and a few scattered about have been historically blue, while the central states and most of the lower south, have typically been red.  Looking on it on a map, it looks like red dominates in size.  But its the electoral votes that really make the difference and have turned states from red to blue and vice versa.

Think of this too, since you're always threatening the democrats are in big trouble next election coming (whichever election it may be).  It was Bush's reign that turned the country to Obama.  (Red to blue).  It was Obama's disapproval that is turning it back from blue to red.  The Tea Partiers and any other republicans have to actually make progress in the things they said they would make progress in...else things may turn back to blue again.  So if you want things to stay red, servant....pray for your republicans and the decisions they make in these two years. IMO they're all just typical politicians.

I don't think right now you can look at it as blue or red.   I think that the tea party spoke for a lot of the silent majority  We don't qualify  lol  We are all boisterous that way about politics  lol

But I think it should be making the leaders of all parties (including the libertarians, green, etc) at what do the people want (not what the polls say because they can be slanted) but what do they really want.   Go out and sit in the local barber shop, wally world, etc and listen to the conversation

I do agree with libertarian's alot. Not on everything, but on most thing's.Libertarian's really do practice what they preach.I agree alot of Libertarian's on their social view's.Ron Paul for example,I agree with his social view's.I am hoping that alot of these tea Party member's coming into congress will be more of a Libertarian and not so much of the holy roller's.... Flordia is mostly a red state.Although,Flordia can vote for Democrat's from time to time.Flordia did vote for Obama in 2008.... I just can't believe Flordia voted for Rick Scott as governor. This wasn't a democrat vs republican issue for me.This guy Rick Scott,is really just a fraud period. But hey,the voter's have spoke. This is how democracy work's.

Maybe a bit off-topic, but I'd probably really like the Libertarians if it wasn't for the fact that at the same time as shrinking government back, they seem to want to take the brakes off of corporate growth. The consequence of this is small, powerless elected government and huge, immensely powerful unelected corporations.

Given the choice between the two, unreasonably sized government wins every time for me. I want a President Obama, not a Rupert Murdoch. I want a government that will protect me and mine from the greedy and powerful. That sort of suggests a government with enough teeth to bite big business on the butt when it intrudes into my life.

I don't think many beyond maybe Rove see it as a big win for the GOP. Ok, maybe a few with their heads up their asses, but not en masse. I think most see it for what it is. Neither party, democrat nor republican as is, has the answers. Both agendas suck. Both agendas cater to freaks clinging by threads from the extremities.

I'll tell you what I expect, and that's tea party people to do what they said they would do. I've read shitty little diatribes on both sides of the political aisle whitewashed as commentary pointing fingers to the other side asking if they get it. Truth is, no one who sucks the two party tit gets it. People are fucking fed up. They're full to the brim of politician promises that never go anywhere, dipshit activists who want the world to change for them, and a whole slew of people who refuse to mind their own fucking business.

Toss on the never ending tax and fee bullshit swirling out of every government body in an effort to separate more of your money from you while they bail out their friends. Wall Streeters who dance in glee when the fed prints more money for them to play with, the burgeoning realization that we've effectively gutted our economy in the name of global free trade - not only gutted it but hung it upside down and cut it's throat to bleed it. Mix in some obama lovers who look you straight in the face and tell you things are actually better...

and what you have is people with an urge to emerge from the lunacy.

I expect tea party people to say fuck you to compromise and offer bill after bill hinged on the reasons they were sent to washington so that republican establishment pricks, democratic fringe folk and the president all have to say no the public that sent the wave washing up on the shores of Washington.

I expect if they don't, they'll be out of a job next time around and they know it. I really don't see the next couple of years where the republican party is the party of no no no. I see it as dems being much more of the no no no crowd.

The grand plan of the media has worked most fabulously, reducing inherent and unavoidable complexities of  societal questions, economics, and domestic and foreign policy to a two-crayon coloring book for the masses.

Red and blue, indeed.

Now, it doesn't matter who you actually voted for as an individual,  you will have people in other regions (by way of instruction from the media) judging you and any input you may have on an issue as being from the either the right or the wrong colored state or region, and personally judged thereby. Keep in mind, by this reduction 49% of the people in any state don't matter.

If you want to further the devolution of the voting process and further promote  "voter apathy" by  unthinking acceptance of the red/blue micro-organism-two-cell-brain-level imposed paradigm, then carry on.

That would make sense if Republicans were actually about "less government" like they love to bray.

Right.

Escaping from the Libertarian inspired lunacy of passage of the Banking Modernization Act and of the Commodity Futures Modernization  Act (s) of 1999-2001 which begot the whole financial meltdown to begin with by "escaping the lunacy" of whatever impossibly workable solutions by unfortunate following parties.

Right.

Now there's some tea party comprehension and integrity for ya!

PS

I actually like the Libertarians at the extremes, just not in the middle.

The tea partiers are just posers who were enjoying themselves famously  watching sports while 80,000 Iraqi civilians were being slaughtered and Goldman Sachs were chopping the legs off of hundreds of pension and retirement plans around the globe, then all of a sudden woke up at just the last moment to save us all.

Thank goodness for black Islamic terrorist Marxist presidents to wake them up or else we'd never have been aware of now what the tea partiers were themselves unaware of and completely oblivious to for over a decade.

Thank goodness somebody has come to save the day!

And as long as the Dems keep swerving LEFT they'll be fewer and fewer of them next election.
