When I'm in Yahoo news sites I try to post a thumbs up or thumbs down on the ratings but it says; "Error on page" many times.
How do I fix that?

It sounds like a script error, or possibly a java issue.
What browser are you using?

See if updating your browser will help. Windows
And/or Java Update

I think it's on their end. They wrote the page. I still use IE6 by choice and usually I don't get that specific error.

On a side note, I don't like the newer versions of IE. This lets me do things I can't on them. I am not sure if I can install a newer browser and still have the option ot use IE6. I also have no desire to learn all this stuff about a newer or a third party browser. Right now my mode is - if it ain't broke don't fix it.

But the fact is even though some sites refuse my browser, and even youtube nags me to update, I don't get "Error on page".

And my opinion on that matter is that sites that require a specific browser can go fuck themselves. The internet was invented for compatibility, it was intentionally inherent in the whole concept. P_U_B_L_I_C, that means for everybody. That means Mozilla, IE whatever, Opera, you name it. even Linux/Unix based systems, hell even Macs ! My shit works on almost everything, those few that want to push updates on me can pound salt. You don't tell me when I have a problem, I tell you.

I don't know of any browser that hasn't been updated countless times, most importantly to correct vulnerabilities. Malicious websites love people who don't bother to secure their systems. So when you post your next cry for help, don't be surprised if you're told that the problem is an id10t error.

When I have issues with IE 8, I fix it by using Google Chrome.

It's a problem with the Chinese made parts in your computer.

when you go into the file properties somewhere in those tabs is a whole list of checkboxes, and in there is a report scripting errors or something like that, turn it off.
