I wonder if there's different degrees of financial domination? Like if someone wants to help me organize my financial future or plan a budget that's one thing but, if someone expects me to hand over my check after busting my ass at work and then just "trusting" they won't fuck me over (again) that's never going to happen.

It happened to me once and he spent all of *my* money on PPV, junk/fast food and gambling...we didn't have money for food for meals, shampoo, toothpaste, meds, bills...we were living in squalor because even though he took tons of money from me, he didn't know how to manage it. I was young and stupid, lesson learned. Never happening again.

For those who are into this, I wish you the best. I hope you never have to go through what I went though.

I'm not into it (ask me again tomorrow).  But it has been my experience that it is either "tribute = get to play" or "no tribute = a whole lot of nothing".

Excuse me, the red light on my phone keeps flashing.. I'm waiting for that girl that doesn't tribute to message me back.... oh nevermind, its just more spam.

First scenario is usually not FD, though I do know a few dom/mes who practised it with subs that were not good handling their money, for subs the kick was that it felt like FD, in reality they simply learned to budget and it had a kinky twist. The parties involved all knew and trusted each other.

There are guys who apparently are getting off on giving money to somebody and love the idea that somebody spends their hard earned money, I can't say I understand it, but hey, to each their own, always takes 2 to tango.

But handing your checkbook and complete financial control to a stranger is possibly not one of the most brightest ideas on the planet, in a LTR it's a different story but even then people tend to get stung...

It seems to me like this is the last place to be calling anyone an idiot  . As previously pointed out if it's between consenting adults that's all the matters. Who are we to be judging others? I know there are lots of things that even seem stupid or scary to me personally that people do, but my Dom has helped me to realize that there is no right or wrong here and we shouldn't be knocking someone else's fetish. Everyone has their own personal preferences. Now that I've done all the reading I've done and read  a lot on here I totally understand the importance of being non-judgemental and open to understanding. That's why I read these threads. Kidkaito I think your statement was effective in getting people involved in a discussion.  I can't answer for why people would be offering you money, but I have known of people wanting to give money in an effort to make you feel obligated to them. Sometimes it's because of low self-esteem, they think they need to buy people because they don't think someone will like them solely for who they are. Before anyone jumps all over me for this, I'm not making accusations, I'm just saying those are some reasons people MAY BE willing to give money to someone they haven't met yet. My advice is to do what feels good to you, Kidkaito, if it feels good, take the money. If not don't.
