Huh?

I thought you righties loved when people can freely spend their money and their company's money on politics.

Why isn't THAT "economic terrorism"?

Have you notified the Supreme Court?

Music, I'm an Independant and I agree with you that people can spend their money on politics if they so wish.
But, like the Kennedys you have to look at where that money came from.
Soros collapsed the currencies of Maylaisia and Thailand in the 90's and he severely hurt the British pound and the British people .
And he was found guilty by a French court of insider trading.
A scumbag is a scumbag.
I wouldn't relish the task of trying to defend this scumbag.

And just as with Kennedy bashing, you have to look at the source and the agenda.

In the case of Soros, claims of his being the primary cause of the currency crises originated in Jewish Cabal conspiracy circles, with enough filtering and covering of tracks to lead to use of this false information by those not aware of its origin.

The Asian financial crisis had been building up for over four years, from a "financial liberalization" -> credit boom -> asset bubble scenario we should all be familiar with by now. Amidst all the turmoil Hong Kong was returned to China on July 1, and the baht was re-valued on July 2, 1997. All the western money had flooded the region in the early 90's and now everybody wanted to pull out at once over the uncertainty surrounding the handover, along with the other financial instability begot by their own contribution. Malaysian Prime Minister (at the time) Mahathir, known for previous anti-semitic comments, blamed Soros, as a Jew, for causing the currency crisis in his country, oblivious to the whole situation. He later retracted his accusations.

The ERM had the Deutsche Mark as the anchor currency. Germany does not like inflation, and when they raised interest rates in '92 the other European countries were reluctant to follow. Germany joined with the UK and France in currency interventions but when it could go no further they stopped. The ERM just didn't work and that was the case before the speculation got heavy. Britain's reluctance to either increase interest rates or allow the pound to float (exiting the ERM)  too far beyond what was a foregone conclusion  was what allowed for the great discrepancy reflected in the large short positions.

Soros had no more to do with the pound collapse than John Paulson had to do with the financial markets collapse we are in the midst of now.

Edwynn, Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger and a Nazi sympathiser. Another scumbag.
Soros I guess "just happened to be in the neighborhood" in Maylaisia, Thailand and England! Yeah, he was just smoking a ciggarette minding his own business just like oh,.....Ted Bundy "just happened to be in the neighborhood" when women would dissapear or be found dead.
Oh, and France's highest court who convicted Soros for insider trading, they must be full of shit too I guess.
I'm sure there were people trying to defend Ted Bundy too.

tazzygirl -> RE: Glenn Beck draws criticism over latest Holocaust comments (11/15/2010 4:31:59 AM)

The fact that you are now attempting to equate presentation of facts and pointing out the anti-semitic origins of the Soros/currency crises myth to defense of a serial killer somehow doesn't surprise me.

The French case is under appeal to the European court, and yes, it is full of crap. At the time the alleged transgression occurred, French insider trading laws applied only to employees, which Soros was not. So he was charged ex post. It took 12-14 years to even bring the initial charges, and the original investigation by the French equivalent of the SEC only mentioned his name a couple of times while pointing out the other more prominent players, and concluded that no wrongdoing had ocurred, no existing law broken. Of all the participants, Soros was a minor player, and the only non-French player. Yes, it is bogus, start to finish. We'll see what the appeal court says. Aside from that, it would be no great trouble to find insider trading occurrences among either Democrat or Republican supporters, but you and others seem to have an obsessive fixation with Soros.

Did Joe Kennedy get the Grand Cross of the German Eagle? No, but Henry Ford and James Mooney of GM did. The highest non-German Nazi civilian honor was awarded to GM's Mooney for his help in war planning, the GM plants providing most of the trucks for the blitzkrieg, engine parts for planes, etc. Was Kennedy in the American racial hygiene groups? No, but Prescott Bush was. Did Kennedy provide the Nazis with the technology to convert coal to gasoline and refuse to sell it to the US Navy? No, but William Farish II and Std. Oil NJ did. W. Farish III sponsored G.W. Bush's political career.

Regarding Soros, there is no one who is qualified to judge such things that says he was the cause of any of the currency crises. Not The Bank of England, not The Bank for International Settlements, not any of the major private investment houses, including the ones who bet wrong, nobody.  As far as the Asian crisis of which the currency devaluations were the inevitable result, the IMF is more often pointed out than any other one entity for sewing the seeds of the crash and then imposing fiscal regimes that made it worse. And Soros was one among many that had hedged in the event. But that's right, he's the only prominent Jew and one of the few outspoken liberal leaning of all the players in that game, so he's the Ted Bundy and all the others are John Waynes.

But carry on with your now exposed anti-semitic rant if you like.

Glenn Beck is a hateful, vile pap smear.  People who follow him are simply grotesque.  I'm sorry but there's no polite way to phrase it.

I agree 100% Suzanne

Edwynn, it's plain to see that your mind is made up.
And please go back and read my posts and tell me where I was "anti-semitic."
If George Soros was an Irish Catholic he'd still be a scumbag!
It doesn't matter what religion he is or (was). (Wikipedia has him listed as "Atheist.")
If you want to defend him go right ahead. What's in it for you anyway?
And what does it matter if Joe Kennedy got a "medal" from the Nazis or not? He was *recalled* from his post as ambassador to Great Britian by FDR because of his Nazi sympathies.
Seriously, do you get a charge out of defending evil people? Do you think Adolf Hitler was, "missunderstood?"

Well, pardon my silliness in attempting sane discourse and presenting of facts rather than the apparently superior tools of myth and hysterical absurdity. I see now that I should have been responding in a manner more to your understanding.

I'll answer that as soon as you answer why you keep defending John Wayne Gacy and why you think that Stalin was "misunderstood."
