There are no Trolls. There is 'Trolling' - the deliberate baiting of others for one's own amusement or out of revenge, but almost all of us do that - some of you more than others. If one wants to argue that a person engaging in Trolling becomes an actual Troll when their Trolling becomes their main mode of engagement, then one has to be able to explain how one knows the Troll is 'Trolling', and not simply 'replying'. Is a reply from a Troll automatically Trolling? Or does the judgement about whether or not a reply is Trolling lie with the recipient of the reply? How does the recipient know a Troll is Trolling and not replying? If the judgement of whether or not a person is Trolling lies with the recipient of the Troll reply, then that makes the observation that a Troll is architect of their own Trolling false. A Troll is someone we disagree with enough to call them 'Troll'. Trolls - what an enigma they are.
