ORIGINAL: servantforuse Since health care in MA is some of the costliest in the country, you can only imagine what Romneycare would cost on a national level. We will probably find out before too long. Mass Health doesnt cost as much to coverage 99% of the citizenry, as the private health care companies (to coverage a much smaller number). How much would it cost a private company to provide services on the scale of Mass Health? How high would the rate have to be? How much control would you, the ordinary citizen have, to regulated which programs you can get accesss to, to best support your health? Funny that I have more control over my health coverage, then most of my friends who have insurance through private companies. I pay a lot less then all of them. I have no problem, that my taxes go to pay for Mass Health. I've seen with my own eyes, the terrible conditions people endure. And to do that without health coverage is simply stunning. People should not have to worry about money, when their child suffers from a condition that if left untreated, will shorten their life. Yet, with decent coverage, that child can overcome the health issue in a few months or years. Apparently, conservatives really are, THAT, selfish. And uncompassionate. And uncaring. And unwise. But for conservatives, this, like EVERY other subject, is a zero-sum game. Its a no brainer to me, that we should have a program/system in place to help Americans get coverage for health care. Even those who work 40 hours/week, may not get health coverage through their employeer, but could, through the goverment. I've known many blue-collar workers in the trade fields that are in this boat. When a family member has an accident, they are literally S.O.L! Do you conservatives REALLY, have THAT much hatred of your fellow Americans? That you delight and enjoy their misery and suffering on a daily basis?
