I can actually show up in South Korea anytime this year, FYI. I don't really need a reason. But who wouldn't wanna party with Sunny Daze?! Sounds like a perfect excuse to show up over there.

First dibs on Bad One! [:D]

sunshinemiss -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 4:38:15 PM)

Awwwwwww... love you guys.  You won't have to go all the way to Korea... The peeps are always welcome at the Fab house in Tennessee... Just ask Tulip or Perse.... or DV or Fox.  They love and are loved by the Fab Fam.  I'll be there for about a month this winter.

Thanks folks for the thoughtful replies.

best,
sunshine

Nineveh -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 5:40:37 PM)

heh, I can't get a date either, but I know better than to whine about it.  That just makes it even harder.

I hope I'm invited to your party though.

sunshinemiss -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 5:44:48 PM)

I'll mention that Nineveh, to my date tomorrow night.  Maybe he has a sister.  Or perhaps your wife would help you with that lil problem, there.  Don't presume to know.

Heh,  if you'd met the ones my wife has picked for me you'd understand why I don't let her set me up any longer.

jujubeeMB -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 7:01:25 PM)

The problem with all you people is that you don't live in New York. If you all lived in New York, I could take your partay invitations seriously! And I could even bring chips! [:)]

Tantriqu -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 7:33:15 PM)

Oooh! That makes me third in the Peon line and he'll be alllll sweaty . . . I'll bring popcorn [sm=popcorn.gif]and a slim volume of verse.
Like the beatnik movies of the late 50's, except we recline as he reads aloud.

Thanks Steven. I'm such a ditz, I didn't even notice that I made that mistake! [:)]

sunshinemiss -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 8:08:09 PM)

What I was a bit hesitant about saying is that I think it's rather sad that all these terrific people are still looking - great people who deserve to be with great people.  I just want to hook everybody up who wants to be hooked up (damn the geography, money, etc.) and see the love and the togetherness.

best,
sunshine

Awareness -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 8:23:24 PM)

Look, I shouldn't be pedantic, but your sig is driving me crazy.

A wonton hussy makes you sound like a promiscuous asian dumpling.  A wanton hussy would be something else entirely.

LanceHughes -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/15/2010 8:32:06 PM)

This here board (the WHOLE of CM) seems to Me to have taken quite the hit from the "Politics and Religion" forum.  That is, that marquee-crawler-thingie at the top IS irrestisible and every so often, can't help myself.  P&R drains one, even reading it as you <CaringandReal> point out.  No wonder we're all dried out - we've been drained by that board.

YIKES!  The poison!

In a way, I'm glad the P&R forum exists.... keeps that 'junk' corraled.  The other side of that coin is that the poison is concentrated and seems worse than the sum of the parts.

What to do?  Hang on P&RS - - - I rarely go anywhere else (inc. humor.)

P.S. to CaringandReal: You forgot "bitter" as in "bitter, wrinkled 70-something face wearing a prune frown."

Okay so at this party I am NOT sharing Peon! Not for the first hour, anyway. Then ofcourse, I share with mah grrrrlz and Lance. :)

BOLD = fixed.

"... a promiscuous asian dumpling..."

ROFLMAO!!!!!

[sm=rofl.gif]

I caught that (typo?) a few days ago while reading the occasional post as the threads scrolled by. Couldn't help but wonder if it was deliberate, or an oversight, or had some secret inside joke meaning. I wanted to make a comment about it, but couldn't think of a clever way to word it. Thanks for doing it for Me, in grand style, and giving Me a great and much-needed laugh in the process.

Although..... a "wonton hussy" could mean that she really loves wontons, and will do anything to get some. Kinda like a crack whore.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.....

Long live the pedants ....  I am pretty sure the wonton is on purpose and from a post someone had made a week or so (I think I am recalling it correctly)...wasn't pomade also mentioned?

And Sunny, just remember I am first in line for being set up with someone terrific  from here ok!!!!!!

edited because I spelt wanton correctly damnit.... though I also like how it is a play on where Sunny lives at the moment

Wow... LOL.  Poor things!

Awareness, I was going to send you a note on the other side with the history, but since Teazer also brought it up, I'll show you where the "wonton hussy" comes from.  You are new, so you don't know me well, but I just adore plays on words, and I do live in Asia at the moment, so it is on purpose but it comes from a typo I made recently.  I put it on my sig line because it makes me happy.  By the way, wonton is called mandu here in Korea - I could make a joke about Man Do!  but I'll leave that for later.  It's from this thread:  http://www.collarchat.com/m_3455772/mpage_6/tm.htm

Hello Ava Jayne,
Sorry.  You are new and didn't realize that it was a fun thing to say... not nearly enough details...

I'm talking something like this:

We were in the living room, the lights just bright enough to see how his eyes sparkled when he laughed.  Barry White was crooning from the stereo.  Throughout the entire night, I could smell the manly scent of his aftershave, the pomade he uses in his hair, and the clean manly scent of just him.  My heart was beating so fast, I just couldn't stop myself.  Like a wanton, I rubbed my body up against him and felt the crush of his strong arm against my soft breasts.  I was feline in my need for him.  My fingers slithered up his shirt, toying with the skin that peaked out of the V where his first two buttons were undone, I leaned in, my body trembling, and began rubbing my face against his rugged beard.  A moan escaped my lips just as I pressed my mouth to his.

You know... details!

In the interests of self-disclosure, I admit that I edited that post.  I had written "wonton" instead of "wanton".  I laughed so hard at the idea of being a little pasta blanket around him that I had to come back and tell you... See... sultry... silly... equal parts.

wandersalone -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/16/2010 1:13:34 AM)

Looking in the mirror I have a bad feeling that I could be labeled as an asian dumpling ?? [sm=biggrin.gif]

LadyPact -> RE: It's rather sad actually... (11/16/2010 6:42:12 AM)

I expect My invitation, sunny.  Any reason for a good party.

Who can argue with someone who knows how to make a good martini?  (Seriously, not everybody has that skill.)

My theory is that a lot of the "can't get a date"posters are ones who use online only in order to try and meet someone and are hoping to find someone without having to actually put any effort into it.

I agree with this.  Contrary to sunny's original, I do think that's an example of 'doing it wrong'.  Yes, some people do meet on the net and those arrangements go on to be long term, fabulous relationships.  However, that doesn't always happen and I don't even think it happens the majority of the time.  If it's not happening in a specific case, it goes back to the premise that if there's no success, maybe it's time to try something else.
